We hit the LINQ today around lunchtime. The Higroller was up and running, but no passengers yet. The entrance to the Highroller where the tickets will be sold is open and staffed. There was a worker there answering questions and promoting the opening. He told us they considered the LINQ officially opened this past Friday at 3pm. The HIghroller will not be lit up nightly and doing "light shows".

I snapped some pics. There was a moderate crowd. LINQ has their own uniformed security team and they are everywhere. There were no homeless or street performers to be seen. All of the stores were open and staffed with friendly workers. We really liked the vibe. Cant wait for June when we are staying at the Flamingo.

I will post some pics when I get back home.

Cool. We will have to check it out when we are there this week. Our last two nights we will be staying at Harrah's anyway.

    Thanks for the update.

Did they give a date for the High Roller taking passengers?

I was just there on Feb 28th. Ate at Chayo.

Didn't think about this. It looks like a city street but I am sure it is totally owned by CET. They can exclude who they want to. Nice. I'm glad they let me in!

Even the ones past O'Sheas? There was a barrier there when we were there that blocked off about half the development. It looked liked there was still lots of construction going on down that way. Of course the barrier would have to be removed to get to the wheel.

It is a good addition to the Strip. I think it will do well.

He told us sometime this month. Could be as early as next week is what he said.

So do you know if the back entrance streets to Harrahs and Flamingo valets are back to normal?

Can't wait to check this out at the end of April! Haven't been down to Vegas since March 2012 so I am expecting lots of new things to see.

I went a few weeks ago and was not impressed. I mean yes, not all of it was open. But it's like they built this fancy thing to put in another Starbucks and a slushy joint? Seemed pointless to me. Looked like the fancy outdoor malls we have here.

Have to see the rest of it on my next trip. Seemed so grand in my mind.. but it's not in person.

I'd imagine it'll all be rolling soon, they are having a HUGE festival there the first weekend in April for the ACM's probably 10000+ people.

Oooo somewthing new to check out when we are there in May. Not sure who is going to be riding the High Roller enough to make it viable. Another monorail?
