I had an incident with a slot that malfunctioned and was malfunctioning the whole time I played. I realized this after I had wild reels that should of paid and did not. I complained and the casino floor manager gave me 13 bucks what he calculated the pay should of been. It should of been 10x that. But I told him I wanted the initial 100 back. I explained that malfunctions void all pays and plays so he should void my previous play if he was not gonna pay me. My host that I just met came by and saw me in a heated argument with the casino manager and I gave up arguing. Host said he would comp me a 100 bucks. After the incident I felt like no playing them and using the 350 FP.

I ended up playing and putting 12k coin in on the slots as well as some table play. I shot the host an email to thank him and ask questions regarding my theoretical. All his responses were very straight forward and had no detail. I also asked if they had any slot tournies planned and if my play was enough to get invited. He said no but he would keep me in mind. Never answered if my play was enough.

I assume I must have made him angry by arguing with the casino manager or maybe by asking so many questions on comps and what expected of me. I had a Theo of 1300 for one night in a 60 dollar room on sunday. 90 in food and 140 at the gift shop.

I was tempted to ask him if I failed to meet my end of the bargain or if mY argument with the casino floor manager upset him. Or maybe I just annoyed him trying to get the most I could. Just frustrated as I thought I put in this ok play and was developing a relationship. I probab look y should just stay away. Venting

If I were you, I would basically share my feelings on the subject with my host. Tell them you feel like you are not being respected for your play level, and if the Palms is not treating you right, you take your play elsewhere.

As dick as it sounds...that's correct.
Basically, you were more trouble than you were worth.
I've had hosts do the EXACT same thing to me.
If you made a "stink", and DIDNT play HUGE...then they write you off.
It sucks, but casino says "There are plenty of fish in the sea."
99% of the time, I know more about slot clubs than the hosts, simply from reverse engineering and trial&error...

I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so direct... I guess what I'm sayin' is... and I don't know you and can only go from your posts here and previously. You seem to be a customer VERY fixated on what you can get from a property. Nothing wrong with that... many folks are. I get the feeling you're off to the next property with a better offer at the drop of a hat... it's all about what you can "milk" someone for and then on to the next one. I don't know comps well like you and others do... but I know business and I know that businesses become skeptical of customers that give no appearance or effort to becoming loyal in any way shape of form. I understand that you dropped some serious coin there and they made some $$ off you, I'm just saying it doesn't surprise me that they're not on the phone to you feverishly trying to smooth things over... that's what I meant by "not all customers aren't worth the effort."

When you skip from property to property, I don't think you can be surprised that they don't fall over themselves to satisfy you. Of course, I'm making many, many assumptions that may not even remotely describe you. I probably shouldn't have even posted my thoughts. I sure don't want to be calling you out when I don't truly know your situation and to be fair... you did post this in the Comps Section.

The last company I worked for the owner had a saying "We fire customers too." Obviously this was only said behind closed doors, but he was saying as Smartone suggested. If a customer becomes too much maintenance and consumes too many resources we show them the door very politely." Customers like this were seen by him as volatile and only a matter of time before the relationship soured anyways. He is amazing wealthy, so I always paid attention to his theories, this one has shown itself as sound to me over and over.

I absolutely agree that some customers are so high maintenance that they are not worth the effort it takes to attend to them, if the environment allows for replacing that customer more efficiently.

If I read your statements correctly, I don't think you are crossing some line or asking for an exuberant amount of attention. An incident where you were wronged and a couple of emails wanting to know where you stand. I would write one more letting the host know where you are coming from, thanking for his attention, and if you aren't satisfied with his response then find another property for your play.

I used to be a loyal palms guy. I would go there about 2 times a year and put say 50k coin in on the slots during a 4 day period and play table games.(I know it isn't too much) Then management changed and things went bad. I had one stay which I booked a slot tourny and flights and 2 weeks before the cancelled the slot tourny. I got there and my room smelled like Weed so strongly it made me sick. I complained and they didn't seem to care. I gave it one more try for another slot tourny that was cancelled and I just cancelled my room.

I recently got several emails form a host there asking if I wanted to come out for the super bowl or the playoffs. I said I couldn't make it but what kind of offer could I get if I came out. He said he would hook me up with dinner and a few nights.

I then recently got an offer for 350 FP and 2 free nights. I called and talked to this host and asked if I could get the free play and the dinner if I stopped by for one night. I asked what type of play he expected for this and said I only had to cover the room and food as the FP did not count against him. He said he had no issue taking care of me and appreciate me being up front and honest. I arrived and met with him and asked what he expected to cover the room and what would I need to earn to play more.(wasted 10 minutes of his time) I then went out and started gambling and ran into the issue with the slot malfunction. I was very upset when he saw me and offered to take care of an extra 100 in food even if I didn't meet the required play. Well In the end I had 1300 theo and that equates to 390-520 dollars worth of comps. HE comped me around 360 or so which is fair.

I just sent him an email and asked him what my rating was and averages and coin in and so on. He responded with facts but I felt there was no interaction. He may of been just busy or I could of been to annoying. I was always loyal to them and was giving them another try. The palms were the ones who screwed me a few times when I gave them all my play. I kept up my end of the bargain this trip and so did they on comps. I didn't expect anything but a friendly email back. I thanked him and said I appreciated the free stuff he provided . He could of said your welcome.

Some people are just not that polite. My host for one property is great face to face, but texts and emails look hurried and full of typos. No greeting, thank yous, or welcome. It might just be a 2nd language thing though...

I was thinking that Nate. I just like to chat about comps so I vent here as no one I know would talk about comps.

Just curious but have you posted this story elsewhere a few months ago? I swear I've read this somewhere before and if it wasn't you then it was someone with a very, very similar story.

Makes me a bit nervous because my girlfriend is pushing a Palms 1st time stay for us.

I am about as friendly as it gets and on occasion I will type an email while on the phone or preoccupied and it will come across terse. It happens to us all, Nate is right. I always try not to read into texts or emails.

The place is nice enough. The remodled rooms were nice and clean that I stayed in. I like the fact that the place has a good mix of old and new slot machines. They slots were not very favorable to me but I have the most luck here historically. I like that they have a food court and some nice restaurants. I would give the place a chance. I was just frustrated with a few things there. I liked the palms and always have.
