Casino Royale has one table that allows $3 bets with 20x odds (the full, packed table). The other table in there is $5 with 100x odds.
Played $3 craps at Fremont between Christmas and New Year. You might look at the pages in Las Vegas Advisor for some more insight on craps tables at other places. One thing I did read... once you manage to get on a $3 table, don't leave for anything ... they are very popular. It was a fun table and I left a winner... that's always good!
Thanks for the quick responses, I'm going to Vegas Thursday - Sunday in April. I'm sure it will be easier for me to find 3 dollar craps downtown on Thursday opposed to on the weekend. Does anyone know if they keep the 3 dollar minimum on the weekends or is that usually a weekday thing? I was in Vegas February 7-9 and went to el Cortez and they only had 5$ minimums on a Saturday night.
You might be able to find the $3 table on the weekends downtown but like everyone has said it's a matter of being able to get on that table because it will likely be a single table and will certainly be packed shoulder to shoulder.
I remember back to my navy days we would go to fallon, nv on detachment. They had a place called the birdfarm where they had .25 craps. it was just the bartenders that were the dealers so it was always an awesome party in that place. funny how you could still blow through $60-80 in a night but man was it ever fun!! talk about foul language, dirty jokes and sailorly behavior, man it was great!!
Dowtown: Fremont Casino El Cortez Casino Strip: Casino Royale OffStrip: Sams Town Jokers Wild Every other casino I've never seen less than $5.
I found many of those "bubble" community craps games (not sure what they are really called) in many of the casinos. Min bets were typically either $3 or $5' depending on the casino.
CousinEddies post takes me back. I played all night .25 craps at El Cortez on $20, left with $20 and barely made my flight. Plaza .25 craps was a bit unsavory characters but Vegas Club .50 craps was great. Milton the dealer and the pit boss Texes Tx were my teachers. I would win $40 at black jack and move to craps to lose it. Always stopped in, even after the min went up.
I think all of CET is still $3 min still for "Shoot to Win" craps (although I call it "bubble" craps too), but don't quote me on that minimum.
Fremont Fremont advertises and correctly that they have a $3 table ALWAYS open. Tends to more crowded but it's always open.
I was there in January and they had taken all the craps tables out but the one 5$ table. No more 3$ craps on the strip. The dealers were crazy surly too.
The dealers surly? NO! That's pretty common. Thanks for the update on the CR $3 craps tho, that's too bad.
The Fremont had a $3 craps table open all day and night. It was totally packed though. During the busy CES they had all 4 tables open (as they usually do on Fri and Sat nights) and one was a $3 table. I think like everything else, YMMV because they can probably raise it any time but they claim to have $3 craps and bj tables open all the time. One thing to note: comps on the fremont $3 craps tables are harder to get because it takes almost twice as much to qualify for comps as a $5 table, but that is mostly because you are playing $3 bets. The roll counter is also different, it takes twice as long to qualify for those roll specials (on $5 tables you can get a free jacket, or t shirt, etc if you have over a certain number of rolls, usually 45 or so rolls). On the $3 table they don't seem to count the rolls, usually 2 rolls for every increment on the counter.
visited the Craps table(s) at Casino Royal last week to check the minimum out. only saw one table. they got rid off the table next to the bar. the table left was $3 min 20xodds. table was very crowded. bellagio, aria, ... all had $10 min tables open during the evening. margaritaville had a $5/$10 minimum table open.
