Claim they were assaulted by security in 2012 over incident where their room key didnt work and they were told they were not registered guests. AC Press has photos of guards wrestling them to ground. Obviously theres more to this ,I would think .Harrahs not commenting.

Just watched the video, and Harrah's is totally screwed on this one BIG TIME.

It was bad enough when they did this to one of their own employees that complained a slot a rigged and said he was calling gaming (Later confirmed by Nevada Gaming, the machine was, ah, er, well, malfunctioning). That suit resulted in a $250K judgment. This was at the IP (now Quad).

Now they have really screwed themselves, for the employee one was tame compared to this customer one.

Read it and see for yourself. Can CET really be this stupid AGAIN? :Þ

I'll try to link, but it never works for me and I do not know what I am doing wrong, so I will also leave a manual link.

    Stupid CET... REALLY CET? :grrr::stir::bang:

Wow, seeing none of them were violent it is going to be really hard to explain it away as the video is plain as day.

BTW, totally f'd is Ceasars. This will be settled out of court for an undisclosed sum of money. I bet Caesars lawyers will have a confidentiality clause written into it, but they will pay big for it.

Common, 5 security guards forcing that guy to the ground and 4 on the 17 year old daughter? Why can't I get that lucky! I act stupid and belligerent and they still won't take me down!

I sure hope the family doesn't settle and has their day in court. You can totally blame CET for the actions of their security. Ultimately they are responsible for their employes actions and I hope that Harrahs has fired them for this incident. CET needs to pay big time for this to ensure it doesn't happen again.

By the way I'm a big CET fan as I always get comped rooms from them and I'm not a High Roller. At MGM I'm lucky if I get a discounted rate offer.

All the times we stayed there

We found security to be friendly and helpful when we had a few small issues like checking out and leaving car keys in room . The one young guard told me that several of his co-workers have been hurt in battles with pool club -goers .I recognize the one short older guy. Lets see what happens.

If I were them, I would refuse to settle out of court. The wife says they need to be punished and this is the only way they can be punished.

Yes, but punish them publically too, just like they were.

I would not settle and let the whole world know what is up, and I would love to watch the court room proceedings, and how CET explains this one.

MEMBERS OF THE JURY, DO NOT BELIEVE THE VIDEO. LET US TELL YOU WHAT REALLY HAPPENED... :poke:

BTW, after they pay, and pay they will, the resort fee's will have to be raised. Do you really think the money is going to come out of the CEO, COO, CFO, and Executive level bonuses? Really? Maybe time to switch to Mfile, and I'm a CET person. I'm not paying for their stupid behavior. :Þ

There's no reason not to settle. The case is now public so the damage is done. Taking it to court just racks up more billable hours for the lawyers. I can't see a reasonable defense for CET but I don't see the point of letting them try.

If they want their day in court it may take many, many years after all off the appeals to actually get a monetary settlement. Plus they could win in court but the jury / judge may only reward them with a small settlement. In a state like Jersey ,which has a large gaming footprint, there is a chance that some members of the jury may be sympathetic to the casino.

The video is very compelling, but it doesn't necessarily tell the whole story. I'm not a lawyer but the best play is to take the money and run.

As a side note I wonder how long this video will be publicly available, probably the first course of action for the CET legal staff is to get all videos of this incident removed from public viewing.

Wow, this is the precise opposite of the image that AC is trying to generate these days as a classy resort experience compared to the "Walmart-type" casino experience you get in neighboring states like Pennsylvania. AC has a reputation for being dangerous and violent right now and this situation does not help that at all.

Wow I guess I am in the miority, since I did not see anything wrong with the way they handled the situation. I have asked for many room keys before and never had to deal with security. I have asked to speak to a manager and never had to deal with security. Why did the guy resist them when they tried to escort him out? There are alot of crazy people out there you cannot trust people when they become hostile over a room key. They don't call for security alot of them for nicely asking for a room key or the manager.
    Just my 2 cents :wink2:

Unless he threatened them, they had no reason to put hands on him. The only justification for them giving him a hard time over the key is if they felt the family was running a scam but even then, that only means they should have called the cops. And even if you felt the guy was resisting them, his wife clearly didn't and they really jacked her up. That's why these folks are going to get a big settlement.

A lot of the casino staff in AC act ghetto as hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the security guards are the same but I've never dealt with any. You should read the popular thread on 2+2 from a Vegas casino security guard. He admits a lot of his colleagues are bullies on power trips, and frankly you don't need much more than a high school degree to get the job.

Umm...why the f*ck didn't security just go up to the room with them and see their stuff in there.

If they didn't ever make it into the room due to the keys not working, wouldn't the pops have a receipt.

Some type of transaction was made, right? Usually folks aren't paying with cash.

Where is the surveillance video of them checking in, thus showing the transaction and reception of room keys?

I wanna see more than just this video.

What kind of establishment is being run where an entire transaction is made to gain a room and the hotel has no record of it?

    This is "DUM".
