Table Games Tech Watches and Table Games

I have a watch called a Pebble. It has one way communication with my iPhone. It vibrates and displays incoming texts, emails and caller ID on it when my phone is in my purse. I always use it when I travel. This would be the first time I will be taking it to a casino. I know it will be helpful since I cannot hear or even feel my phone go off with all the noise. I know you cannot use a phone when at a table, would this qualify as well as it is only one way?

 

Take a look at this thread and don't be surprised if they ask you to take it off while playing at a table.

 

If you aren't actively using it during a hand, it should be fine. Of course if it's smart enough to tell you the current count is +6, then you'll really get in trouble. :evillaugh

Hmm, maybe casinos are more anal than I thought. But that's why I usually only look at vp strategies on my phone while in the John...

 

Thanks for the info. I'll just take it off when I'm at a table to be safe. I'm sure it will be fine everyevery else in the casino.

 

Pebbles are much more under the radar then the Galaxy Gear. I'd be surprised if a Pebble got much attention. To an untrained eye, I would think it would look more like a normal digital watch then anything else.

 

Are you thinking they are going to kick you out when they see it? I think the most they will do is just ask you to take it off. I wouldn't spend the time to take it on/off all the time.

This is also new enough that most pit bosses probably aren't even looking for it and some casinos you go into may not even have policies against it.



Now...if you are a card counter and spread 5-100 and want to be as low profile as possible, then yes take it off.

 

In January, i was playing UTH at MGM and another player was betting $100 ante. Don't remember what watch he was wearing, eventhough he mentioned it, but it did exactly as you describe your watch. The pit boss was perfectly fine with it.

 

Cool. I'll wear it and see what happens. I guess the worst is they just ask me to take it off. It cannot communicate out, only in. Very handy!

The main issue that casinos have with the Galaxy Gear watch is that it has a camera built into the strap. The image from the camera can be shown on the screen of the watch and it can also be wirelessly sent to a connected phone. This feature gives it a wide range of possibilities when it comes to cheating.
