May or may not slip in a Orioles game. Last time I did that, I got heat stroke.

Braves fan living in Raleigh, NC

So far the only thing in the works is the Braves vs A's series

Throw in the last Motley Crue concert tour and Zoo/Aquarium visit and it appears to be a big week in the ATL.

I'm jacked up to see some MLB this summer. I'm in Baltimore/DC about once per month and I've decided to hit both Nationals' (in May when they are hosting the Orioles, I believe) and the Orioles' (July) home parks. I haven't been to either park, so any recommendations on tickets, bars, eats, and anything else would be great!

    Yeah... I remember from TA.

We argued about whiz on a cheesesteak once before. I'm on the whiz side... you're on the provolone side... if IIRC.

There is not much of anything around Nationals Park, except the Navy Yard. I think if you start walking up toward the Capitol there may be something, but I'm not sure at all. The stadium itself is very nice with tons of concessions. Like any Major League park, though, bring your dough, it can be expensive.

Orioles Park at Camden Yards, on the other hand, is about 4 blocks from the Inner Harbor. Lots of bars and restaurants there. You can catch a water taxi to Fells Point which is loaded with night life, or to Little Italy for all the Italian you can handle. Baltimore is a decent party town, but don't stray too far from the main areas.

Yeah. Outside the park is an open air bar (the bullpen) with live entertainment. It's pretty pricy as well. We never hit anything outside the park because there's not much around there. If you down toward Maine Avenue there are a few bars and restaurants, but it's hit or miss.

Hve not been to a real game in years and years, but Spring Training is pretty cool down here in Ft Myers with the Twins and RedSox..
Parking lots at Phillies and Orioles games are LOADED with Pennsy and MD plates i've been to..
They announce the game-time temperature here and then get a big reaction from the crowd when the announce the current temp in Philly or Baltimore..80% of the stands are snowbirds..

Word has it that a restaurant/bar complex may be built on the site of the Bullpen like the one between CBP and the Link in Philly. That would be cool.

Yes. Back in the day, Pickles was a must stop on any trip to see the O's. Used to be decent eye candy around there.

That sounds pretty awesome. They have plenty of room around there to develop that area into a pretty awesome place to be pre-game.

I'm actually a MN guy living in So Dak and unfortunately haven't gotten to Target Field yet. I went to the dang HHH so much for Twins/Vikings that you'd think I'd be willing to get to the new baseball field! This is the year!

I caught a Nationals game last year during the 4th of July week....it was in the mid 90's IIRC and my bride got heat stroke. Got to see my son the doctor go into action....I grabbed another beer while this was going on....JK...LOL...

It was like sitting in a BBQ pit with all that concrete and no shade......NEVER again in that kind of heat will I do that. We left in the 6th with my bride not doing all that well.....

BTW beer was like $9.75 per bottle......CRAZY ! ! ! and water was $5....I don't mind pay a premium but I don't like being raked over the coals.
