Still wish Slash would return but that will never happen. Also wish I could be in town for this. I have 2 GNR tats :) Saw the opening show of their world tour in 1991 with Skid Row as the opener. F'n great show :)

Are ANY of the original band members except Axl even affiliated with GnR anymore?

None except for Dizzy, who isn't an original member but has been there since the Use Your Illusion albums. I used to be a huge GnR fan and I always forget they are still around in any incarnation. Their tour with Metallica was the first concert I ever went to, and still the best I've ever seen.

I agree it would be awesome to see the original band reunite. I would definitely go see that.

I heard rumors about this a couple of weeks ago. Was hoping for late April when I'm in LV....oh well.

I've seen them a handful of times (1st show 89', last time was 2 years ago).

And can Axl still sing? I would love to see the "real" GnR, which I never have, but somehow I'm a little skeptical of all this. I also know Axl had a reputation for showing up 2 hours late and my bladder wouldn't handle it these days, especially in LV...

Are we talking '92-ish? That was one of the first concerts I saw as well. :headbang:

Unfortunately, while Metallica (and Faith No More, if memory serves...) rocked, G 'n' R showed up about 2.5 hours late and were just awful. Axl incoherently insulted the audience repeatedly, fell down a few times, stopped in the middle of songs and generally acted like the white trash he is.

Oh well, Metallica did kick ass. And it's a good story anyway...

Yup, same tour with Faith No More opening. It was a similar story when we saw it, GnR showed up late and underwhelmed but Metallica blew it away. I didn't know much Metallica at that time but became a big fan after seeing them. But the main thing I remember is chicks in the audience flashing their boobs, I was really young so that was awesome to see. Come to think of it that is still awesome to see. :wink2:

I first saw them open for Aerosmith and was thrilled when they decided to open their Use Your Illusion tour near me in 1991. Two shows, 40,000 at each. It was the same venue as Stevie Ray Vaughan's last show :( Top ticket price was $35 lol. Axl had hurt his ankle/foot in rehearsals the day before and was wearing a big walking boot but he must have been on some "pain killers" because he was all over the place.

Axl's voice is still pretty much the same. He's a bit chunkier now (aren't we all)

I saw the last residency and it was incredible. Axl showed up on time, they rocked for 3+ hours! I'm a fan of the current lineup, DJ Ashba is an incredible musician. He looked at me and threw his guitar pick last time :) Just got my tix for Memorial Day weekend!!

Bumblefoot is very good as well. I was at their last residency as well, and that was the second time I had seen them during their newer line up, and both times were pretty awesome. I am still shocked that Filter opened for them, they never announced an opening act, and that was a total surprise.

I met Duff at the Hard Rock last November, he was waiting for his luggage to get brought down. It was the night after Motley Crues last show, so I assume that's why he was there, and what a very nice guy. I was too nervous to get my pic taken with him and I really regret it.

A little piece of GN'R trivia- Slash auditioned for Poison, but they decided to go with CC DeVille instead.

They had an opening act at the last residency? The show I went to didn't have anything, although we didn't get their until after 10pm. Jealous you met Duff!

Booked for this show in May. GA tickets for a Friday night show and 3 nights at HRH.

This will be my first time seeing them since 1987! Even without original members I expect it to be a great show.

What two? I have the appetite cross with modified colors on my forearm :headbang:

How is this show? I saw the current lineup a few years back and it was incredible. 3 hours, all the hits, a few good covers (whole lotta rosie and another brick in the wall). Is the vegas show shorter? Is the GA super crammed? I am thinking of a trip just for this.

They are both variations of their logo, the 2 guns, and 2 roses wrapped around them.
