I need to put together a dinner meeting with a new customer group.

A couple of the guys in the new customer group are used to the finer things in life.

    Breakdown:
Customer #1 is mid forty’s from south of France and is staying at Encore, Open to anything
Customer #2 is early sixty’s from US and is staying at Encore, Favors seafood
Customer #3 is mid forty’s from Mexico City and is staying at Paris, Steak guy

I was looking for us all to meet in the middle, Maybe something in the Venetian.
I don’t usually eat in the higher end restaurants but this needs to be impressive.

Hopefully they won't want me to select the wine.

    Cost is not an issue.

I would think SW would serve you well. They do have seafood. I ate there last year and it was amazing in every respect. You can sit outside if you prefer, which I did, and enjoyed it.

This is screaming Eiffel Tower restaurant to me!

I think this will have all the food selections you mentioned + it has upscale atmosphere. The elevator ride up to the restaurant really adds to the experience and of course the amazing view will put anyone in a good mood (and may make your pitch easier) :)

+1 for SW at Wynn. Balanced menu, great atmosphere and outstanding service. Cannot go wrong here!

Plus the cheddar bacon biscuits are unreal!

Definitely not the place you want to go. The food is mediocre French and if you're with someone from France, they probably won't enjoy it very much. The atmosphere and service are good to great though.

If you really want great French food and be impressive, Joel Robuchon is touted as the best restaurant in Vegas. Twist at the Mandarin has great views and is center strip. Alize at the Palms is one of my favorites, with excellent views, service, and food.

I second SW Steak. The patio seating is great. They even have a vegan menu which is pretty good as well. I had fish the time I was there. It came with a tag that allowed me to look up information on the fish (where it was caught, when, and what boat). The Wynn has seafood tanks under the casino floor and a marine biologist on staff to make sure the seafood is extremely fresh. I believe the Bellagio does the same.

If you like Italian, Scarpetta at the Cosmo is very good as well. Though, the service is pretty average. Great views of the Bellagio fountains and wonderful food. They're known for the spaghetti plate. It's amazing. I suggest Italian since you don't seem to have an Italian in your group and it seems like an unbiased ethnic cuisine for your group. But, then again, so is a steakhouse.

    Good luck.

Shucks, SW is booked up for the times I want.

I agree that the Tower would not be a good selection, I will keep researching.

I guess that's what I get for being frugal when I'm in Vegas.

    Keep the great suggestions coming.

If you want to do SW (I’ll echo the others in recommending it), I would call them. I don’t think their website it too accurate…I’ve called a few times and got a reservation when the site said nothing was available.

How about Julian Serrano's Picasso at the Bellagio? There are only 4 triple A 5 diamond restaurants in Vegas and that's one of them (Joel Robuchon is another). It has real Picasso's hanging on the wall. It's a mix of Spanish and French cuisine. Close up views of the Bellagio fountains while you dine as well.

Le Cirque at Bellagio and Guy Savoy at Caesars round out the triple A 5 diamond award winners.

There is also a restaurant named "E" at the Cosmo. It is hidden within the Jaleo restaurant (Jose Andres). It's essentially a chef's table. I believe there are 10 seats. You must email for a reservation. I think they have two seatings a night. They start taking reservations 2 months in advance for the opportunity to sit. Very expensive, very exclusive, and very personalized. You won't find it mentioned on the Cosmo website. You just have to know about it. You can google for more information if that might fit the bill.

I will second Picassos at the Bellagio. I know its the most impressive room/dining experience I've ever had...

Since one guy prefers fish I would pick one of several high end steakhouses, all of which will have excellent fish. Go direct to SW like has been suggested and if no luck Carnevino, Cut, Prime and others would all work. GR is too loud though, just a note there.

I agree, do NOT take a French person to the Eiffel Tower restaurant. Cut might be a good choice for this group if it has to be a steakhouse for some reason. I would not go that direction, most non Americans do not care for that genre of restaurant and are certainly not impressed by it. "e" is not right at all for a business dinner, way too much emphasis on the food. Robuchon/Guy Savoy look like you are trying a little TOO hard. I think Picasso or Le Cirque would be the very best choices for this group. Maybe Sage.

Thanks for all the help,

I settled on Steak, I have SW booked for 5:30 PM, Cut booked for 7:00 PM and Prime booked for 8:00 PM
Hopefully everyone will agree to either SW or Prime.

Just a quick note; I have been doing business with these guys just under a year and sales have grown beyond expectations. I want to treat them to a wonderful meal experience as a reward.

(Before they reverse engineer my product and have it produced in China):nono::grrr::cry:

Don't sweat this too much. I've been in similar situations, just remember that the sommelier is your friend, not your enemy. Look at the wine list while the sommelier is over your shoulder, point at a price and ask him/her, "I'd like something like this that will work with what the table has ordered," a not-so-subtle way of indicating you're out of your comfort zone but OK with them taking the lead, and giving them an idea of where to go, price-wise.

After the first bottle is gone and the table is on its way to being well lubricated, either repeat a version of the above or tell the sommelier to ask/work with one of your guests as to the second+ bottle (guessing you'll have read the table by this point and would have an idea of who would be the candidate, etc).

Congrats on the sale, sounds like a fantastic night out.

    nfs lol

Report back with a post-dinner update!

Glad to see you were able to get a reservation at SW and I'm sure you will love it if that is where you chose to go!
