    My Trip Report

My wife and I like to head to Vegas for long weekends, usually once, sometimes twice per year. She's a teacher and had Friday and Monday off, so we flew out Thursday night and back Sunday. Flights via Southwest, early to Vegas and back to MKE, but waited for a gate on both ends.

Donald with Presidential Limo picked us up and dropped us off, very nice guy, we'll request him next time too.

Stayed at the Nugget first night, got a cheap offer and were thinking about taking a quick swim Friday AM. Friday AM came around and it was 48 and cloudy, cancelled the swim. Thursday night gambling was uneventful, I broke even at MSS, wife lost a bit. I lost $100 playing Craps at The Cal on the way back to the Nugget though. Damn guys at the table we hooting and hollering, but it wasn't to be for me.

Breakfast at Dupars and then checked in at the Cal. We play and usually stay at Boyd properties and I wanted to make sapphire there, only needed 9k points to do so, which I did by Friday night. I'm finally someone! :nworthy:

We did something that we've never done before, bought slushy drinks in a plastic football and wandered up and down Fremont. Stopped in most casinos, only played at the D, lost $60 or so playing LIR, couldn't get anything.

After a few hours of this we headed back to the Cal to gamble and put away our now empty souvenir footballs. Headed back out to gamble after a quick snack and lost a bit, drank a lot, then won a bit. Had dinner at the Pasta Pirate, gambled to a tie for a bit and hit the sack. Second night always hits me early.

Started Saturday out with breakfast at the Cal coffee shop. We then gambled at MSS, won about $100 playing BJ, wife about even. Then walked down Fremont to the Fremont. Sat down at a table with Mira, a lovely lady from the former Yugoslavia. We each won a bit over $100 over a couple of hours. Turns out that Mira's nephew deals at MSS, and we had played with him on Friday night. We cashed out and headed to the Cal to rest for a bit. A HS buddy lives in N Vegas and works in Mesquite in the gaming industry. We were meeting him for dinner later.

Went to MSS to gamble, lost $100 of my earlier winnings, met up with Barry and hit the 777 for supper. Sushi, oysters, garlic fries and beer. Yummmmmm. Played a bit of BJ, broke even. Then walked down to check out the DT Grand. Meh was what we all had to say. Nothing bad, just really small and no energy (though not dead) for a Sat night. Barry was fading fast so he headed home and we headed out to gamble. I lost $200 at MSS, wife hit the sack early. I was pissed for losing again so as I walked back through the Cal to go to bed at 2:00am, I plopped down $45 in a single deck BJ game. Lost down to $15 and then went on a tear and got up to $165. Lost a $15 bet on a fairly bad beat (sorry, can't remember the details, but it was a sign) so I cashed in down only $100 for the night.

Hit the sack and woke up fairly early, ready for the final few hours on Sunday. Breakfast at the Cal coffee shop and then over to MSS for BJ. Lost another $100 and tucked my tail between my legs and called it a trip. Wifey won a few bucks. Headed back to the Cal, got our stuff from our room, met Donald and he spirited us off to the airport.

All in all, a good trip. Lost a few hundred bucks, had a good time!

Nice trip. Overall I would say you came away unscathed. I would be happy with that. Usually I take more of a beating.

I agree. I knew that this trip would probably not be like the one in October (https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102271) but I had hoped for the best.

We gauge our trips by a few factors, first and foremost being how much fun we had, second being how well we did gambling and third being how the travel went. We never gamble money that we need to make ends meet so if we lose our entire bank roll, we'll still eat.

This trip was really fun and relaxing (wife needed it more than I did) and fun.

A few days in Vegas and only a few hundred down? I'll call that a win!
