I usually like to try out a different off strip property every time we go to Vegas, and have been to mostly Station casinos. This time I don't have a car though (and the wife is busy for the day) so it's just me. In the day I like to play $10-15 BJ, $1 and $5 Wheel of Fortune slots, and a bit of VP (and save my craps playing for the strip at night). Would prefer a shuttle but would take a cab if I have to.

I'm leaning towards a little trip to Sam's Town, Gold Coast, or maybe South Point. Any suggestions?

If you did Gold Coast you could do Rio and Palms at the same time and use a shuttle.

I would do South Point or M Resort if you wanted to go just a little further.

Both have great service, excellent restaurants, low limits, and plenty of variety. M Resort has the hottest cocktail waitresses in town but South Point has a fantastic movie theater (just incase the casino kicks you ass )

I concur with this suggestion (shuttles are at Bally's). As for VP, Gold Coast has 9/6 JoB w/STP, and Palms has full pay deuces wild, 10/7 DB, or 10/6 DDB available.

I am of the ilk that just about any off casino might be worth the trip just to see once. Of the ones you mentioned.......... The G.C. might be the first choice because of the Rio and Palms w/in walking distance. I always enjoyed Sams and South Point as well. BASICALLY ya cant go wrong with either choice.

South Point and Gold Coast are two of my favorites. If you want to spend a half day at just one casino I would say South Point it's much larger than Gold Coast. M resort if very nice but longer taxi ride and higher minimums. As others have mentioned Gold Coast has a shuttle and Rio and Palms you can walk to. I also like Silverton for something a little different (Bass Pro and aquariums), Not sure about shuttle for Silverton.

Can't go wrong with any of them.

I agree with The M Resort and South Point (my preference would be the M but it is the farthest and therefore costs the most by cab. If traffic is not horrendous on I-15 it would be faster than taking Las Vegas Boulevard and - hopefully - cheaper).

South Point is on the way to The M, so you could always stop there first and if you decide you want to check out something else, take a cab from there to the M.

If you are taking a cab down I-15 to either destination, I also agree with the Silverton as a third option.

You can grab a free shuttle to Gold Coast

From there it takes you over to Orleans also and back.

I agree... the M is worth the trip over! Not the SouthPoint, but if you're in the area... both times I've been to the SP, I felt like I was at a senior-citizens center!

    I like m casino a lot also,

if you plan to travel to south point or m, you may consider renting a car for the day at the hotel your at. it will probably be cheaper than a cab there and back. minus the convience factor.

I am fuzzy on the shuttle situation but I would try for the Silverton. I just have good luck there.

based on your criteria, here's another vote for South Point. Love the atmosphere in that place, as well as the CW outfits :peace:

If you ever want to go further out on a future trip, and you have a car, try the Rampart and the SunCoast out in the Summerlin area. The Rampart is a beautiful property, with lots of good video poker, all the usual table games, and several nice dining options & promos.

The SunCoast is somewhat a clone of the Orleans, a nice casino, but the VP is not as good as the Rampart, but does have very nice rooms, and very good dining choices.

    What about the Orleans?
It has a free shuttle from the strip and a nice selection of VP. They also are pretty good about the room offers for not much play.

Another vote for the M Resort. With a little play you'll even be able to earn a free buffet and I think their buffet is just excellent. The shuttle schedule is on their website. It says its only for hotel guests, but we used it without a problem. The shuttle leaves from the Fashion Show Mall just outside the Forever 21 store (go out the Forever 21 side door and walk to the left - the shuttle picks you up at the end of the dirt path).
