So I emailed my host to see if they would offer me more promo chips if I was willing to downgrade from a west end penthouse to a wraparound terrace suite… The offer, $500 more chips! The difference in room cost is 4-5 grand for the stay. Yes, I know the chips could potentially lose them more, but i just thought it was funny. Maybe that's just me… (I stayed with the penthouse)

Ok, so I do realize that some people might think this post is annoying. Yes, I know $500 in promo chips is a lot. Sorry. I was going to delete it after I posted it, but I couldn't figure out how. Just wanted to share my experience from a different point of Vegas view.

And their promo chips are one play only, so they are worth less than $250! What a joke, and a good data point to have. Thank you for sharing.

I downgraded from a wrap around to a terrace suite once and was given a $300 spa credit (happily). I agree your potential downgrade would make no sense at all vs what you're getting

Rooms tend to have little value to casino unless they are rented out. Makes sense to me. Especially when you figure what a $20 tip can get for you!

I did! Unfortunately my recent play at CET didn't warrant it. They were great in response though, and I might give them more play this trip for future offers.

i actualy i have no problem with what cosmo offerd yyou.

the have a room , your worth x . you wanted to down grade they figured , your now worth x and y .

if a bigger player came when you had the penthouse comped you probaly would have been bumped any way.

to them its only a room if its not being used they dont care ,theres no value so as long as they have you in there there all ready winning.

I agree with you paperposter. You are without all else, incredible blunt (and right most of the time). I look forward to being able to meet you one day face to face, I think we might get along well.

Yeah what paperposter said. And it's quite alright that you have these great comps. Always feel free.

    anytime.

i look it from there point of view ,the hardest part is for a casino is to get you in the door, they have you , so the all ready won.
they know your history and so they put a value on you ,me all off us.

the only other thing you could have done was say will for the measely 500$ ill go to somewhere else a try to call there bluff. but you know sometime you just have to go with the flow.

i would have taken the 500 as all there rooms are nice , thats just me.

    good luck.

Thank you. I'll make sure to let you know how the weekend goes. I feel that's how this trip is going to have to happen… go with the flow… those are the best trips anyways.

As much as I'd like to hang out in the West End Penthouses, I'd probably take the 500 too. If I'm at the level of play where that's offered, it's likely they'll offer it again. Cosmo offers me free terrace studio and like you said, all of their rooms are nice. Though I really want one of their bungalows once with the hot tub on the 3rd floor. Serious jealousy when I saw those on YouTube. Guess I'll settle for my terrace. I'll be there in 6 days.....

I would certainly not take the 500 (I mean 250). I would go with the penthouse given your level of play and the relative meaninglessness of $250.

if its first time in the penthouse, check off the box "been there" and enjoy the room

otherwise I think the 500 in promo chips is worth it. Unless u need massive space, the balcony is useless and it might be raining.

(maybe I frown on rain since I live in so cal and get bothered by gray clouds)

other wise id just get the chips. I don't see the issue with 1x use chips on black jack. just save them for splits and doubles.

ive also never had a promo chip taken on a push...there but im guessing its "dealer" specific?
