Not sure on the ones you asked but I'm sure someone here knows! For good cheap eats, hit up Binions Cafe for a Binions burger and for added fun, they have temporarily reopened the downstairs coffee shop again while they renovate the floor cafe! Also love Magnolias at 4Q, ask for a table overlooking the casino!

The D had freebet blackjack in December... a side order of bacon at Binions Cafe is on a platter and is humongous, enough for 2 or 3 people, and was $3.95. I'm like that puppy dog on the commercial... I love bacon!!!

At the Cal, the Market St. Café can get swamped when the Boyd "Vacations Hawaii" tour group comes in. These hardcore gamblers from Hawaii are hungry after a 5 hr. plus plane ride, lol!

The Café can get busy from 5 to 9 pm and then gets swamped around 12 pm to 2 am. These are typically when the Vacations Hawaii groups gets in.

When I want to eat here I usually go about 5 pm or at 2 am. Sometimes it's not busy at the above times because the tour group did not come in that day.

Actually I think it's busy from 5 pm on. I usually avoid the line and just sit at the counter in front. There is usually an open chair or two.

FYI, on Tuesday, the vacations hawaii charter arrives at 4:40 pm so the market st. cafe will be busy after 5:30 pm. On Wednesday, the charter arrives at 6:40 pm so the lines will be long from 7:30 on. On Sunday and Friday the charter arrives at 10:45 pm so lines will be long after 11:30 pm.

IMHO, I would suggest eating at 5 pm or getting there a little earlier. I think the prime rib special starts from 5 pm (could be 4:30, I forget). I think the restaurant gets busy after 6 pm throughout the evening. If you have a large group, they are always a problem, takes some time for them to set up the tables for large groups. I found at the buffets (MSS and fremont) the lines start to get long after 6 pm but not too bad before that.

I ate the prime rib special about 3 weeks ago. btw, the prices went up, it is $9.99 for the prime rib special now.

Other suggestions, the Cal has a lanai on the first floor with "fast" food, plate lunches like hamburger steak or chicken wings or bbq beef. the Cal also has the Aloha Specialties restaurant on the 2nd floor promenade, good "hawaiian style" food.

Oh yeah, if you are staying/playing at the D, bring along earplugs if loud music bothers you, lol.

For a quick bite the D has coney island hot dogs.

I wish I knew the answer to this conundrum as well. We've been once -- got in line at 9:20 and waited about 45 minutes to get it. Worth the wait, though. It was pure Vegas kitsch and tasty too boot!

Do they still have coupons for the MSS brunch buffet? I've always found that to be a good value, especially when they have the 2 for 1 buffet deal.

4-5 is a good time for the Prime rib at the California. Try their T-Bone steak too. It is about $15.95 and includes the salad bar as well. MMMMMMMMMMMM

The only b1g1 I have seen any longer is via the LVA book, it has on in it. I believe it has left the All Casino Guide book either last year or this year.

The American Casino Guide (ACG) has coupons for MSS and the California, which you first earn 250 points, and you can then get a FREE buffet at MSS, including the brunch buffet. Same deal also at the Fremont, with their coupon & buffet.

Oops that is American Casino Guide, lol! I always call it the wrong name, probably because I usually just refer to as the ACG. That 250 point deal was one of the reasons I got the LVA this year. I am sure we will get the points but just wanted to be safe, plus getting more matchplays and free slot play on the LVA book will be nice too!
