What do you do at the pool?

How long do you stay at the pool? Do you go every day on a warm trip? Ever gamble or order food at the pool?

Personally I go to relax, not party. I love to go in the morning for a couple of hours. Or late afternoon. I've played some blackjack in the Trop pool years ago. But I just love to lie back, maybe read, relax, etc...

I find a shady spot, wear dark glasses and act like I'm looking at my IPad!!! Now that my VMB friends have confirmed it's OK, at any age, to ogle 20 something year old girls, I can't wait for pool season!!!!!!

Love to start my day at the pool. We will either pick up a snack or have a quick breakfast before heading out cause we do LOVE our foo-foo drinks there. I just lay in the sun, relax, listen to the music and people watch while having my 1st Margie of the day!!!

I go to the pool at least once on a weekend trip and a couple times on a longer trip. I enjoy swimming and splashing around with my wife like a little kid, but I also like just lounging with a pitcher of drinks. I tend to go to Vegas in the summer, so I find that enjoying the pool in the heat is really nice.

I have visited a number of pools in Vegas. I go to different ones for different reasons. In my upcoming trip, I intend on doing some dayclubs for the first time and partying it up at the pool. I might even go to the nightswim at The Cromwell.

I love the Palms pool for lounging and music. They have the very best party music yet they are usually not packed because they are off-strip. I don't really go inside the pool here. I just lay out in the sun, read and listen to great music. There are usually some very good-looking guys here. That helps.

My favorite pool is Rio because they have several hot tubs with lush landscaping as well as the coveted sand beach that we praise Mandalay Bay for (although on a music smaller scale). The music here is also good. Unlike strip pools, I can actually relax here and have my pick of chairs because it's not crowded. Also there are fewer children at this pool too which i love. But I don't mind some of the more mellow children I find at this pool. I also love Rio because one of their pools is warm even when it's hot out. I like a warm pool on entry regardless of the weather.

Hard Rock was one of the most beautiful pool complexes I have ever seen. I hope to explore it more in the future. I love sitting in the pool at Excalibur. They have this shallow, flat part in the pool that is great to sit in (instead of a lounge chair) and soak up the sun. It's packed with kids and 20-somethings but I LOVE the music here. I can read and listen to music. Though it has a slide, I am not fond of hitting the water without being in a tube because water goes up my noes and I am not much of a swimmer. Luxor is creatively impressive but the vibe is kinda dead to be such a large pool complex. I only go out here to sit out in the sun for 10 minutes.

I would probably exclusively go to Mandalay pool if there were not so many kids. The music is not as great as other places either. But the pool complex is like a waterpark. It's excellent. I avoid this pool though now because it's overrun with children. And the pool was the highlight of Mandalay for me, so I do not stay there anymore.

The music at Quad is always excellent but the pool is so unimpressive. Since I enjoy the music, I ask for a pool view and I enjoy the music in the room while I am getting prepared for my day.

Monte Carlo has an impressive pool complex as well with the wave pool, lazy river and such but for whatever reason, and I am not sure, I did not feel excited about this pool. Caesars is open to women so I go and visit there usually fully clothed, walk through, enjoy the beauty and the party atmosphere (virtually no children). Before I lounged on their daybeds before I learned you had to pay for them, so I stopped going to Caesars pool because I could not enjoy their daybeds anymore. I also was swimming by myself in the exclusive villa pool...I had thought it was just a neglected pool with no one in it. After almost an hour of enjoying this luxurious pool celebrity style, I was asked to leave. I think I have definitely enjoyed Caesars pool to the fullest!

Gold Coast is a small pool but it has all the basics and I love just sitting and reading there for an hour or so. Hooters pool is cute, it's 24 hours and they have nice lounge chairs. Their pools are too cold for me though so I might used there hot tub or just catch the rays.

During the warm months, I visit the pool almost every other day (I take long trips). In the cold months, I visit a pool at least once. During all months I find a hot tub to enjoy whether at the pool or at a spa. It is very well-needed and much enjoyed. I actually spend more time just lounging and/or reading whether in shorts or in a bathing suit than I do in the pool. Only when I am at Rio do I spend almost 100% of the time in the pool.

I rarely order food at the pool unless I am with a travel buddy that is hungry and can't wait. This has happened once. I have never gambled at the pool although I am not against it. They should probably get some slot machines at the pool. lol. I really hope nightswims catch on...I just hope it's not as annoying as some clubs.

We went in July, and so for about three hours each morning we would head down to MGM's pool complex and enjoy the half empty pool until 11 or 12. We are not the type to worry about our hair or how we look (were amazed at the number of girls who would literally squeal if they got splashed), so we dive right in. Cannot stand to sit out for that long in 100+ temps, so we spend the majority of the time actually swimming, or floating in the lazy river. At that time of day the lazy river is pretty quiet which is great!

I like to take a quick swim as early as they open. Gotta burn off those pancake calories somwehow :)

I'm not one for sitting around the pool, I go from pasty to sunburnt in about 3 minutes!

SPF 40, hat, iPad or newspaper, Bud Lime-a-Rita or can of suds in a backpack, lounge chair under a palm tree.

    Loved the Excalibur pool too!

I only go to swim too. I don't need a tan, I was born with one. I do like lazing around the pool when we go to other resorts but in Vegas I'd rather do other stuff. So if I'm up early enough I go for a swim before the crowds form and then leave. The problem is most Vegas pools aren't really conducive to swimming.

I never gambled at one of the poolside tables, though if I saw a swim-up blackjack table I'd probably play just for the novelty factor.

    wake up slowly

We love to go to the pool first thing in the morning when it opens. I find chairs in partial sun/shade while hubby buys us a picnic breakfast complete with lattes. We relax and listen to our iPods or read or people watch until it gets busy or we get tired of being there. Although I do get in the water, I wouldn't call it swimming. It is the perfect start to a vacation day in Vegas. Our favorite pools are Flamingo, Mirage and MGM.

Since I'm European it's only fitting that I hang out at the European pools (though my experience is limited to Wynncore's and Moorea).

Lots of sunblock, a rum and coke and next thing you know I'm complimenting the closest girl with good hips on her choice of bathing suit (if she's sans top that is).

I've been going to Vegas for 40+ years and I think my total pool visits could be counted on 1 hand.

A couple at the Sands & the Stardust. That's about it.

Find a chair in a shady spot. Put on my sunglasses and huge sun hat. Go into the pool with the pool noodle around me and let the pool current push me around. I accidentally found myself in a game of volleyball once, that was fun. I paddle around a bit and stretch but I don't really swim. Then I lay with my hat over most of my face and dry off. I'll have a water or fruit drink but no booze. I'm good for an hour or so out there. Very relaxing.

MGM would be my pool of choice! If theres a group of us, i prefer to rent a Cabana by the lazy river. I'll spend the whole day there. swing the cabana host $20 and they'll usually sneak your whole group into Wet Republic for the last couple of hours.

If its just me and the Mrs. I cant last very long out in the sun without the luxury of the Cabana. She'll sunbathe and i'll usually go back into the casino and lose my money.

I go during the winter, so pools are shutdown when I am in Vegas. But, if I ever went to a pool, I would wear a shirt that says "I DON'T BELONG HERE"
