I'll be getting into Vegas tonight and staying at the Flamingo though Monday.

Can anyone tell me what I can expect to see as far as blackjack goes at flamingo? I'm mostly a $25-$50 player. I'm assuming at that level pretty much everything is going to be hit S17, but will BJ payout be 3:2 or 6:5?

What about DAS and re-split aces at that level?

    Thanks!

Dude...I don't know about CET properties, but you can always cross the street to Mirage...and, at your level, you should be able to find 3:2, DD, with DAS, S17 over there.
    Good luck!
PS - let me know if Mirage still has that game @ $25 min, ok? Thanks!

I'll do my best to check out the mirage and let you know. Was planning on going over there anyway to play some craps at a special craps table that seems to treat a don't better like me nicely!

It’s been a while since I’ve checked out Flamingo’s offerings. But the most recent CBJN I have (November 2013) seems to confirm what I remember (though, neither my memory nor CBJN should be taken as gospel:nono:). Everything under $100 is H17. Shoe games will allow DAS and late surrender, but not re-splitting aces. Double deck games allow none of the above. There should be plenty of 3:2 at those levels.

Though, as mentioned, better games can be found elsewhere (pretty much every casino not named Cosmo or owned by CET) at those levels.

I can confirm these conditions as of last week. Bellagio offers a $25 6 Deck Stand 17 game and $50 pitch game (weekdays - usually goes $100 plus at night/weekends). Aria and MGM also offers consistent Stand 17 games at the $50 level, either shoe or two deck. You can generally find a decent $25 game during slower periods at MGM in the higher limit pits on the main floor.

I didn't stop in the Mirage, but they typically have one or two decent tables going. TI also has a decent $50 game and typically has one decent $25 table going.

The best you can hope for at a CET property is H17, DAS and surrender of the 6 or 8 deck variety. Their higher limit pitch games are restrictive.

If you're playing blackjack at that level don't play at CET. All of the MGM properties have much better rules and a lower HA. CET table games are more like carnival games (as a general rule of thumb).

They don't even offer 3-1 on the field twelve in craps.

Cosmo has the same type rules. Almost everywhere else you can find a good blackjack game.

    Thanks for the responses everyone.

I'm staying at the flamingo due to comp there vs having to pay at MGM properties. But I've never stayed / played at a CET property in vegas before. Sounds like I might be just playing around some at flamingo to just get some play in and check it out, but I imagine I'll be heading over to The Mirage to see what kind of damage I can do at their BJ tables. Are there decent vp pay tables at flamingo? Sometimes I like to just throw a few hundred in a VP machine and get some free drinks in and get lubed up before I hit the BJ tables.

    Thanks

The CWs alone are worth a visit there!
Play some UTH or 3-card and enjoy the scenery...

Aria does have 25 dollar dd only on graveyard. sometimes if its not busy you can request to have the min from 50 lowered and they might let you. ive never seen bellagio's DD below 50 even at 6 am

real simple in the regular area 8 deck or dd for 25 0r 50$- 3/2 hit s17 dont go near the party pit.

now heres the trick around noon or 1pm they open the high limit room that most people dont know about.

tables are 50$ 6 deck stop on all 17s and dd 100$ same rules , tabe maxes incrase as the day goes on.

cet rules dd ace split once , regular dd spilt upto 4 times but no dd after split

6 or 8 deck split aces 3 times and all other 4 times and cand double after split. hope that helps

    hope you can understand

Found a $25 3:2 das, surrender hit s17 table at flamingo but it didn't like me. Just testing the waters. Bought in for $300 played for a hour and lost. I swear the dealer had 5 black jacks in a row.

    I shall redeem myself!

Video poker paytables are the worst Vegas has to offer.

    Slot payback sucks too.

They give away free rooms because the house advantage is so high that they can afford to. You're paying for that room in terms of awful rules on their games. Stay as long as they give you free room but don't gamble there is the best advice.

Agreed. Margaritaville will always have a 3:2 H17 8-deck game with surrender. Penetration is very good. This will be the $15 limit. If the limit is $10, it's probably 6:5.

On the main floor of Flamingo you can always find a 3:2 H17 2-deck pitch game for $25. Penetration is 50%, but that's pretty much true almost everywhere.

You can also find the same decent shoe game at Flamingo, but you have to look around. Dozens of their shoe tables are 6:5 at $10.

For VP the best you should be able to find is 7/5 Bonus w/Super Times Pay (98.29% w/STP) for quarters/50c/$1. Multiline game, but you can play just one line if you wish. They also have a 7/5 Bonus progressive (98.01% before prog).

If you can afford 3-line dollars or more, they have 9/5 JoB (98.45%) in the high limit room.

Undathesea is right. Paytables aren't good at CET. But for VP, not much on the strip is very good unless you are looking to bet ~$25/hand or more. BJ at Margaritaville is obviously better (~0.57% with perfect basic strategy).

And the general impression I get on this forum, MGM properties are much better that CET toward table game players (if you're betting $25 or more).

So, were you able to get over there, and more importantly, did they still have that $25 3:2 DD game with S17 & DAS?

You'll need a time travel machine set to pre CET ownership era if you want to find a quarter 3/2 DAS S17 game in the Flamingo. Hilton or Bugsy likely offered one.
