I played there one time and while it was interesting the walk did it in for me. That was one of the more scary walks I've made and we were getting some "looks". We did it later at night, probably would have been better during the day.

I also miss what were probably the best BJ games in the history of the galaxy at the LVC in the 80s.

I miss the Great Moments Room in the L VC. It was the best restaurant downtown before the penny pinchers took over.
The Upper Deck was one of my favorites and I see it was also for a few members of this board.

One joint I miss is The Ice House Lounge. It was just a little ways south of the The Plaza on Main St. I had a lotta fun in there, though it was only around for like 4 or 5 years it seems like.

Upper Deck had a great steak and eggs special. That was an every trip meal for me back in the day.

Easy answer...Binion's when Benny and Jack were in charge. Too many good memories....steak specials, comps playing $2.00 single deck blackjack with great rules, dealers and Pitt that knew your first name and where you were from, having plans for the day and getting sidetracked and never leaving a table....thanks for the memories!

I miss Center Stage at the Plaza the most, I had to go there because it was in the movie Casino and it wound up being the best dining experience I have ever had, not the best meal, but the best experience

That's Easy... The Deli and the 99 cent shrimp cocktails at The Golden Gate. The new owners have done a good job overall with that place and The D (depite the ear splitting music) but I'll never forgive them for getting rid of that Deli. No matter where my wife and I stayed one of the first things we'd do (after breaking in our room:thumbsup:) was go and get a 99 cent shrimp cocktail from the Golden Gate. It was tradition:cry:

Agreed, I like the "new" Golden Gate but that deli in the back with the piano player and great shrimp cocktails (and the other food was good too) was a blast.

The Pullman Grille at Main Street Station. It seems cruel that they make you go right by it when entering the elevators.

I learned how to play craps at Binions. Have some great memories of that place.

The Pioneer, in specific, the Craps table that was so close to the exit that it was almost out on Fremont Street.

Upper Deck is the most missed. Also Great moments room at LVC as it was the first place a special lady and I were treated to totally comped meal with no limits. She looked like a queen that night and memories will last forever. Over the years we enjoyed many of those special nights. that place was a hidden gem.

The Golden Nugget, when they had sawdust on the wooden floors for dancing and a country western live band. They had a barker at a microphone, who was explaining how to play the various games to the tourists. It was my first trip there with my parents in the mid 1950's. I was a high school student then and we stopped at the Grand Canyon on the way there. Las Vegas was our "turn around point" on our vacation from Chicago. (I was the designated driver for the whole trip). But downtown Las Vegas was the thing to see then, even over the strip. I still have my original photographs of the casino's all lit up at night. My parents kept going back year after year, and I followed in their footsteps when I became twenty-one. Great memories. Although the Nugget is still there, it's now a totally different experience and establishment then the one I saw.

I miss the good prime rib at the market cafe at the Cal . Now if you want great prime rib go next door to the Redwood Grill. However it will cost a lot more.
Hilario is a great waiter. Brian sucks stay away from him. Prime rib is huge
(16 oz) so expect leftovers. I always get the filet mignon and have never been disappointed.
