I have a car booked through Dollar starting on Monday. I am a member of their express club. Does anyone know if I will have have to wait in line or can I just go to the kiosk? There was no place in the reservation process to put the number in.

I've been logging on and off but finally got the grid to show me Dollar prices for my May trip... Wouldn't let me book the Premium car (it says car unavailable) so going to try and rebook the Full Size car...

i notice the rental car pickup place is a little south of the airport, how much time usually needed from return to the main ticket counters again?

also premium and fullsize are same price for the days i am there.

    Dollar Bookings

Two couples booked for Dollar Car Rental .
    In two words, never again!

They quote you a price, when you go to pick up your vehicle they add all types of charges. We ended up paying about 50% more, my brothers $200.00 rental ended up costing him $400.00
I did a google on this company. BAD NEWs.

We booked Budget thru Costco Travel.

I've used Dollar in both Vegas and Tampa. YES they will try hard to upsell you on a lot of stuff. Be prepared to say NO THANKS! The clerks get commission, I'm sure.
I'm a commission sales person and get told no ALOT so I have no trouble lol

You'll hear good and bad about everything including car rentals but I can put up with 10 Min of BS to save money.

    Tim
    T-40
    T-112
so with TWO trips booked I NEED to save twice as much on car rentals!

    Dollar Bookings

They charged the $11.00 extra driver fee, we declined ALL insurance extra's.

We never had a problem with Dollar. We were always charged the quoted price. We use FastLane though and don't have to deal with the upsell.

I've heard horror stories of how long the lines were at the Dollar counter. Did you experience that?

swuulumm: Just apply for a Total Rewards account on-line www.totalrewards.com You can print a temporary card and use that number.
My friend has done this, then rented his car. Premium car, 7 days $125 thru Thrifty. His reward credits were of course zero since it's a brand new account.

I called Thrifty and they added my Blue Chip number to my reservation. I expect no issues when I go to pick my car up.

Picked mine up today. The Dollar line was huge, Thrifty had 6 people waiting, but both were moving at a glacial pace. No problems with the price, mileage was confirmed as unlimited, and the guy out on the lot upgraded me to an SUV at no charge.

The lady at the Thrifty desk did confirm that if you are Blue Chip you can bypass the desk with this reservation as well and go straight down to the cars.

Under $150 for 9 days all in, Score!

How do you get blue chip? Just by doing enough business with them.

dvandentop: It's just a loyalty membership. sign up on their website for FREE. Dollar is called Dollar express. You give them your CC info , address etc etc . Dollar will NOT send a card anymore. They will email you a membership number but I think they can retrieve your info.via your CC.

    Thanks.

    One more question:
Is is only for LV locations or (theoretically) everywhere in the country (or at least near every CET property?!)?

Seems like that would be really easy to find out .... why not try it (for your specific need/s) and see what you get?

    FYI
Seems to work for me at all the airport locations I have tried. However, some city locations (such as Lake Buena Vista, FL near WDW where I want to use Dollar from a specific hotel) haven't worked. When it doesn't work, you are told to call a "vacation specialist". Haven't tried that yet.
