Never played out of the states ... furthest for me, away from northern Illinois, would be Sarasota, Florida.

I have played in California, Nevada (of course!), Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisanna, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York and The Bahamas.

I had to look at a map. I can't tell which is furthest from Austin. California, New York, or The Bahamas.

    Australia. Nearly 8000 miles.

Farthest in U.S. I guess would be Kauai. Continental U.S. would be Miami.

I'd have to say the course about 3.8 miles from my house. I've only golfed twice in my life.

I have played all 3 courses on Grand Cayman.

Also played in Jamaica. Jamaica was my first experience with a caddie ;)

Golf fact about Grand Cayman --- courses can't get grass to grow green there, so they literally spray paint the entire course....rough included.

I tend to get farther and farther from home with every shot.

Walking a course is a better idea for me. I have walked Firestone, which is walking distance from my home, and Doral. Got a cousin who plays in Scotland every couple years.

    New Zealand, and England.

Interestingly the one in England I played one Sunday morning at the invitation of the Head Partner in the International accounting firm I was working at in Southern England. He invited myself and another Kiwi and an Aussie who were all working there at the time.

All 3 of us were hackers pretty much - not sure that he totally thought that was "good form", but he had the good manners to keep laughing.

Afterwards we had Sunday lunch in the dining room - Jacket and tie and pretty formal. Great experience. Here is a link to the course if anyone is interested

Fun course. Can't wait to see what Coore/Crenshaw do with this year's scheduled tweak.

When I tried to play golf, I said "Phuket" a lot. Does that count?

I absolutely loved going to Yokosuka. Sasebo was a blast as well.

Don't know which is farther away miles-wise from SoCal, but played in Honolulu and Quantico...
