Humidifiers?

I'm staying Downtown for my upcoming visit. Do any hotels offer Humidifiers that you can use during your stay? If not I'm having to take mine with me.

You can always run the shower for a while.

I think I'm going to sidle up to a bar soon and order a Humidifier and see what appears.

 

Don't know about humidifiers, but we have found applying "Simple Saline" to the nose at bedtime works wonders. I used to use Vaseline, but this seems more effective.
My wife has this theory that the higher the floor, the drier it gets. No proof but it's her theory and she's sticking to it. I just say "yes dear".:evillaugh

 

So your saying to ask for a room on the first 2 floors?

 

I don't know if she is correct, it's only her theory and I just go along. I always wanted the highest floor I could get, now we usually stay on #8 because the entire floor is non-smoking.

One of my fears when we moved to Vegas was that I was going to have a bloody nose every morning. After about 3 weeks the body adapted and I never got another. I know that's no help to you, I just threw it out there for the would-be movers.

 

My wife and i also have trouble with the dry air in Vegas. We used to get sinus infections from the dry air until we started to be more proactive.
First, the saline nose spray mentioned before is a must. We use it several times during the day. To add humidity to the room in between showers we fill the bathtub with a half inch of water for evaporation. We also soak towels and hang them from the backs of chairs, clothes hangers or from the towel racks.
Haven't had any problems since we started this routine.

I know some people go down to Walgreen's and buy a small personal humidifier, use it and leave it.

 

I have a travel humidifier and bring it to Vegas every trip. It makes the room so much more comfortable. At least you get a little bit of moisture up your nose when you are in the room. I also carry saline spray in my purse .

 

All suggestions are helpful and appreciated.

Found a post on another board that looks interesting. Basically you fill an ice bucket with water. Then dampen a hand towel and stick about half if it in the bucket while draping the free end of the towel across the vent on the air conditioner. The water in the bucket will wick into the towel and be evaporated into the room. Clever.

The post also mentions the portable waterbottle humidifier from dfalk's post. But, I like the low tech soultion.

havent had any problems when staying at the higher end properties aria and cosmo. but usually when i stay at nyny or monte or flamingo i had some real damn bad nose bleeds.

That is exactly the kind of travel humidifier I have and it works well.

 

I just snort the foam off a MSS Pale Ale every once in a while... works wonders for the ol'e snozz... just don't try this with Scotch... now that just hurts! Not that I have ever done that?

 

Coming from this humid soupy mess aka Houston I immediately noticed the dry air out there. I didn't suffer nosebleeds but the chapstick and lotion were applied generously.

However the humidifier is an interesting suggestion. Now that the strip has no shortage of drugstores to buy such things I may see if I can find one there and try it out.

 

Brought one of these to my Cosmo room once. I honestly feel like it is too small to make a difference in a room of that size. Really more of a small bedroom, desk type product.

Maybe I dont realize the power of a little humidifier though?

Saline spray is definite a must buy.

 

I have to have a humidifier, and those travel ones don't do a good enough job for me. I travel with a big one. I swear by them though. I haven't gotten sick much at all since using one regularly.
