Four Queens offers...???

Just wondering if anyone received marketing materials/offers in the mail from Four Queens?? We stayed there in November and the spouse spent some $$$ gambling there and I did some which I thought would put him on their radar. Apparently not, so just wondering if anyone else receives any kind of offers. What do you think it takes?? I've heard others mention that it doesn't take much to get a comp with them.

I've got a few nights booked when them in March during Conexpo since the rates on the strip are crazy high. But an offer from them would be great.

 

Marketing does not seem to be Four Queen's strong suit. I have club cards for every joint downtown. Four Queens is the only place that sends me nothing. Binion's (FQ's sister property) at least sent me a welcome letter when I joined their club (last September) and loaded $20 of free play on my card for my next trip, but that is all I have seen.

I did call to ask about their silence. They offered to transfer me to a casino host. That's not my style. I should not have to beg for offers. Hell, I get room offers from the Plaza and on my last trip, I did not even set foot on their property (or Vegas Club either for that matter).

To be fair, Binion's and Four Queens are not my "go to" places, but they are far from last on my list. They probably see 20% of my total action. The only other place downtown that does not send me room offers is Golden Nugget, but they are noted for being a tough(er) nut to crack. However, the GN does send me regular email and snail mails keeping me informed of what is going on with them.

If you are looking for offers, I would suggest playing at Boyd (Fremont, Main Street Station, California), The D/Golden Gate, El Cortez and Plaza. They all market aggessively and comps are easy to come by. I can't say anything about DT Grand because I have not seen the place yet.

 

Thanks for your reply. Good to know. We like the location of the 4Q and have enjoyed gambling there on our previous trips. I won't be holding my breath waiting for anything then.
We have gotten offers from a couple other DT hotel/casinos but nothing that made us jump. Maybe next time we will have to his up MSS as we did not make it over there or to the Cal. Don't know where the time goes when we are in LV, but we seem to run out of it!

 

We played downtown while staying at he MGM in October. We played about an hour at MSS ( we lost 500 ) $1 9/6 DDB probably 5000 through the VP there. Then we played about 15000 at 4 queens playing full pay $1 JOB. ( we won there.) We got offers from 4 queens for 3 free nights and 100 free play but nothing from MSS. We did not like.the vibe at MSS and went there for the brewery...nothng special. The queens had a frantic vibe, which is usually not our thing, but we liked.something about it. I might stay at the 4 queens but they do.not offer suites which is a dealbreaker for us.

 

We stayed at the 4Q two years ago. I would say most of my play (low roller) was with them, but then Fremont was my second favorite. We played at all of the casinos DT.

My offer from 4Q, I think, was buy a room at $25, get one free up to two free rooms. Fremont offered me three comped nights and two $15 food credit vouchers. Guess where I stayed this year? Golden Gate, which I really do not remember playing in much, also offered me three free rooms, including a Saturday night, so we also stayed there.

Fremont is right next to 4Q - same great spot, and better with the comps.

 

I get offers and stay at the 4 Queens every trip, usually getting three free nights in one month and three more in the next, but the offers often do not show up in the mail. Some of that may be because I am a winter snowbird and the offers are not first class and not forwarded. The same thing happens at the D.
At the Four Queens I just call and ask for the host number. You don't have to have a particular host, just ask whoever answers and they will look you up, let you know if you have any mailed offers, and book rooms if you do. You don't have to be reviewed at the end of your stay, so it really isn't using a host in the traditional manner.
I don't qualify for host generated comps. All I'm doing when I call is checking to see if I've had a mailed offer for the month I want to go. They can also estimate when those offers will go out and sometimes they will have them on record before anything arrives in my mailbox.
Since the mailed offers come pretty late in the booking, I generally have to book somewhere else just to be safe and then cancel and book with them about a month before I go.
Sometimes I've asked the host to book me and I've gotten good rates, and then canceled and rebooked on the mailed offer when it finally was released.
Check too for freeplay. It comes with the offers.

Since the mailed offers are generally three nights and include weekends, I build my trip around the Four Queens. As well as three mailed comps a month with freeplay, they will send out a slot tournament offer that is three free weekend nights on the dates of the tournament and some food and some decent gifts. These cold nights in Florida I'm huddled under fleece blankets I got one time.

At the D they can check mailed offers right at the reservation desk. Those miss my mailbox as well, but generally I qualify for two for one there. Booking those two casinos back to back is very convenient. It is a short walk out the back doors from one to another, and most often either place will give you early entry if they have rooms. At the Four Queens if I can't get in early, I ask to lock up a room by room number and they will do that as well. Then I have to wait a bit longer. My last trip I booked 12 nights for a total of $149 tax and all, 2 using ACG at El Cortez Cabana, then three at Four Queens then four at the D, and finally 3 at the Four Queens again.

 

I get offers every 2 months for 4 queens. They give out offers on very little action. Check your account next time. It might have a no-mail option or simply the wrong address.

 

It's not begging to talk to a host and inquire why you haven't received a mailed offer - it's what they do when you call and ask about that. They're not going to transfer you to someone in marketing. After asking a host to look into your situation, you may find an address problem or a "no-mail" box checked in error. In addition, the host will look at your play and might offer you something up-front if warranted. It's pretty much a no-lose situation!

 

Right, Morpheus. The smart thing to do is just call. There is no reason not to. Just ask to check what mailings may have been sent. They have them on file. I have to do that because none of the mailings are forwarded down to Florida where I snowbird winters.

I know what the poster was thinking, however. I've had host encounters other places that were rather tiring as I asked what I might get and they gave excuses and asked for more play. It is especially true since my play is primarily advantaged video poker.
However, it is really not like that at the Four Queens.
You are not immediately assigned a host there, but can talk to anyone in that office.
Also, I just walked in one day and was delighted to meet a new host who sat and talked to me a long while without any of that demeaning sort of manner.

I was asking if there was a way to book the Four Queens and not have those booked nights show up on the daily average radar, so that I could book extra days after my freebies but still concentrate my bankroll on the days of the comps and not put myself in jeopardy of losing comps due to bad outcomes.
He said that any hotel deal other than those through mailings or through their office, including those I might find from discounters or get from Binions poker rate would not affect my daily average.
I just have to be careful not to put money in a machine for the days I stay beyond my 3 free nights. Any $ in and that kicks in the daily average computations for that day as well.
I thought it was generous of the host to share that strategy.

Of course, it is to their benefit, because were I to be way up in bankroll after my 3 freebie nights, I'd play the other days as well.
The whole tone of the conversation was very different than the usual host conversations I've had in other casinos.
On the other hand, a couple years back I booked just one extra night and then went back to see if my play would erase that fourth night charge. Then I got the old, "Sorry, you did not play quite enough for us to be able to do that" routine just as low rollers get most places when they try after the fact for comps.

I'm hoping that the Four Queens decides to stay out of new move for resort fees downtown. Then this kind of booking will still be a bargain. We'll have to see.

 

Have you tried The Plaza Casino on Fremont street?.I was just there this past weekend and had a great time.I remember seeing a sign in the elevator for a Superbowl party.$100 per person gets you in and includes all the food and beer and well drinks.
