Hubby and I are heading to Vegas for a few days after Easter. We are staying Sunday through Friday. We have the first three nights booked on a reward from My Vegas at the Mirage. (My current favorite hotel there) The last 2 nights are more expensive, the best rate I can find for the Mirage is $316 including taxes and fees. So I am looking for options.

Using MLife offers I found these totals for the remaining 2 nights. These totals are for both nights and all added fees. An Aria Deluxe Room for $288, a Monte Carlo Deluxe Room for $160 or a Monte Carlo Monaco Suite for $245.

We are not huge gamblers and will never have our rooms comped, but we do like craps and blackjack. I like a nice relaxing pool for first thing in the morning and good restaurants. We don't spend a lot of time in the room, but want it to be nice and clean and have a comfortable bed.

In the past we have stayed at Flamingo, Ballys and MGM. Really prefer the Mirage over all of those.

Please let me know what you would suggest based on the info I gave you. Thanks

Aria rooms are great but I wouldn't spend the extra for it....definitely not for 2 nights.

    Monte Carlo Deluxe.

Monte Carlo's suite is whatever and Aria's room is the best.

Imo, Vdara has the best basic room out of the three and Priceline might be your friend. I got that before for $86 a night a probably overbid. It's worth a shot.

I have no idea how much time you want to stay in your room tho'. Better rooms mean a lot for winding down.

I have not stayed in that MC suite, so I'm just comparing Aria to the basic room, but I would go with Aria, mainly for the pool and food. I have a soft spot for MC because it was my home base during my first few years visiting vegas, but there is nothing special about it.

Aria has a much larger, nicer pool and you will easily find a nice quiet spot there to enjoy your mornings. By contrast, the MC pool is smaller (and thus feels me crowded) and louder because the lazy river attracts families and kids. Plus Aria has much better food options.

Aria is worth the $128 difference.
The Monaco Suite at MC is not e real suite.
The standard rooms at MC are very basic.
    Small bathrooms,thin walls,small windows,Go with Aria

I stayed in a MC Monaco Suite about a year ago. It's nice, but nothing earth shattering. The poster above made some good points about the type of crowd MC draws. Whether that is a plus, minus or does not matter is up to you. The room itself seemed like a basic room with some extra space and a couch. You mentioned that you didn't plan on spending much time in the room so I would say go with what is the cheapest for you. If you had some friends and wanted somewhere to have some people over before you go out then sure go for the "suite" but if you guys are mostly looking for a place to crash, change etc. again I would say go with the cheapest and most convenient location.

Aria all day long. Probably the best bed on the strip and the hotel is full with great restaurants. Unless if you are on a really tight budget Aria is the clear winner and is worth a lot more $$ then difference is in price. Even if you dont spend a lot of time in the room, Arias pool area and the rest of the hotel is much nicer then Monte Carlo.

Aria by a long shot! There's no comparison really, even with the extra $$$ it will be worth it

Done MC basic room and Aria basic room and hands down Aria.

We don't get comped and wife loved both pools but enjoyed Aria's better since it was larger and felt roomier.

As others have said, the MC Monaco Suite is just a large regular room with an extra half bath. They are nice but I wouldn't classify them as a "suite".

I've stayed at the MC a half dozen times and we really like the location, its basically connected to Aria so if budget is a concern, just stay at MC and walk over to Aria.

    We really enjoy MC's pool(s).

The Aria bed is like sleeping on a cloud - one of the best beds I have ever slept on, in Vegas or elsewhere. Also, as someone else mentioned, VDara is another great option right next door to Aria. Either one would be my choice over Monte Carlo.

Aria is my favorite hotel. Can't go wrong with it.

MC is okay, but I would avoid it if you can.

I definitely suggest Monte Carlo. The two hotels are joined together so it's almost like they are one in the same. Just walk through the street of dreams at the MC and up the escalator and you are in the Aria.

I have stayed at the MC about 20 times and have had a good experience each time. Staff is very friendly, rooms are nice and casino is set up well, and the location is one of the best.

In all of my trips to Vegas, we have stayed at the MC all but twice. I like the MC for the price. If money is of concern, pick the MC for sure because you can walk to Aria in 5 minutes. I enjoy MC because it has a food court where you can get cheap meals to balance out the more expensive ones.

We have stayed in the Monaco Suite once at MC. It is considerably bigger than a regular room, has a fridge, the tub has jets, the bathroom is bigger and there is an extra 1/2 bath, the linens are the bed were even nicer. I would highly recommend it!

Headed to Vegas in March for a conference and choosing to stay at Aria for the first time, but 5 nights of the trip will be expensed to work or else I'd be back at MC in a heart beat! I'm looking forward to trying Aria's rooms out as we were already spending most of our time gaming and dining there anyway.

I will echo what others have said. Aria by far has the better room when compared to MC. That being said, have you looked into Vdara? I looked quickly that week after Easter and the prices for Vdara are $129, $119 and $109.

Vdara is a great hotel. You can be from your room to Aria and Cosmo within 5 minutes.

Good luck and let us know what you decide. :)
