I have come to realize in like the last 6 moths-1 year or so I have posted A LOT LESS than I used to ....sometimes not even once a week. But I DO lurk. And I have been posting on various boards since its semi infancy in like late 97- early 98.Dont know whether its because I havent been out to LV in a few years ( LOTS of reasons for that one), my interest ISNT as VIBRANT as it once was, feel like its more geared to a much younger crowd(meaning the strip but I always favored Downtown -offstrip than the strip)...or the overall hassle getting out there from the northeast/many casinos in the area-- but I haven't even been to those in ages either) or the relevance of other social media FB.. you tube etc....

Just wondering other folks viewpoints on this or if its just me.

I go in spells. There are times I will be here 10 times a day reading all the new post then times I am gone for a week or month at a time. I find I am here more often since I have a trip coming up but I read much more than I post.

I go in spells too. I definitely post more often when I have a trip approaching.

I visit more often if there is a particular thread that I am interested in, like a Natedogg TR.

Sometimes a thread will piss me off or frustrate me really bad so I stay away for awhile to avoid reading it.

I am impressed with how well the vets on here deal with repeat questions from new members...

I had a hiatus over the past few months but returned recently as my close to my next trip. This is not related to what has or hasn't happened here, but rather a change in the frequency of Vegas trips on my end (from 4-6/year to 1-2/year).

Some good posters have left recently but there are many good posters who continue to post regularly. Trip reports remain high quality, and I'm glad I caught Royal Flushers and will catch Natedog's trip before / after my trip.

I have been an avid poster to various forums since the early to mid 90's. I have been banned or suspended from all of them except this one (so far).

I found this Forum after being permanently banned from Trip Advisor.

I am not bragging, just stating the facts. I find myself being way less confrontational than I used to be and think twice and reread my posts before hitting submit.

I don't post nearly as much as I used to.

I'm very active in another (non vegas) forum but as a trip approaches I am here reading and posting much more than other times of the year. My aggregate online forum activity is probably pretty steady throughout the year though.

This might seem hard to believe, but, yes, I do post less frequently. Back when we were heading up there every month, when I was writing loads about town, I posted like mad. That's why most of my activity is now in the grab-bag category. Except for golf, with which I've tried to stay current owing to visits as I pass through or the when I hit the golf show, I don't know that I have much substantive Vegas info to share any more. I'm kinda of the opinion that if I haven't been active with something for two years -- take food, for instance -- while there might be historic validity to what I write, it's not remotely in keeping with contemporary conditions.

I took a hiatus a year or two ago, then came back. I've been self-employed since 2001, working out of the house or from the road, so this place and a few others are my office water cooler. For me it's less about Vegas and more about Monday morning with the gang catching up on happenings.

Now the big and ironic change is totally saying adios to LVA some time back.

No, it's actually work related though I tend to post in the off topic sections. It's a nerdy industry so there are plenty of star wars threads though...

Yes, I post less, because all the thought provoking topics have already been covered multiple times. My favorites are "which buffet has the crispiest bacon?" Or "where should I stay if no one in my party likes to walk?"

+1 Very much so! And I have to admit that I am guilty of that too, even though I'm searching the forum trying to find info before I post a question.

But back to topic... When I have a trip in sight, I read and post a lot. And every time I'm going to Vegas, I'm sure I will write a trip report ones I'll be back home, but I never do. After a trip I kind of go into a Vegas depression and avoid everything related to it. Having looked forward to the trip for months, it's just a very cold shower when it's suddenly over and I realise I have to wait for another year before I can go to my beloved city again.

Sometimes there are a lot of topics that interest me or I have knowledge of and can contribute, other times there isn't. And I agree with most that say their activity increases with approaching trips.

I'm relatively new to this community. Found another gaming one first, pretty well known, but wasn't well received...to many cliques and way too math orientated(EVs, HAs, Theos, etc). I like this place. Very welcoming, lots of subjects.

I have my own successful message board for the past 10 years, but it's a hockey fan site for the NY Islanders. With how poorly that team's been doing and finding Vegas taking up much of my interest, I now post on this board more than I post on my own.

Which hotel offers Hookers who like to indulge in crisp bacon until they can barely walk?

Have you checked THE Hotel parking garage entrances? Those hookers like bacon, and I hear have nice cocktails. :poke:

I never get tired of the "Who has the best Crabs in Las Vegas" posts, I could read them all day. Its right up there with "Where can I take Dorothy Mantooth for a nice seafood dinner?"

I mostly lurk forums, but I post when I have relevant information.
I've been a forum junkie previously (10k posts in under a year), so...yeah.

I go in cycles. Right before a trip I'm very active. Right after a trip I basically shut everything Vegas out. At some point then I slowly start getting back into it. My last trip was a nightmare and I don't think I listened to a vegas podcast or came to this board for 3+ months.
