Hello Im going to vegas late april and due to flight costs may fly out friday night and land at 9:30 PM local time. We are going for a bachelor party and will meet up with the rest of the party on saturday night. Any suggestions for downtown hotels? Ive never stayed there (and only have been downtown once in 5 trips to vegas). We are both very low key and really just need a couple beds and would like to be able to walk to where the action is. The rest of the trip will be centered completely around the strip so it would be nice to go downtown for one night. Any suggestions? Thanks cant wait!!!!

Checked on reddit and the golden nugget seems to be highy reccomended, any comments? Thanks again!

Bel, GN has 3 different towers that have 3 different price ranges. The Nugget is nice and I have stayed there before, but if you just want a place to lay your head for a night, you may want to try something a little less expensive, especially on a Friday night. I would guide you towards the Boyd casinos (MSS, Cal or Fremont) but there are some others like 4 Queens and the D. Be careful of resort fees at the D. My wife and I stayed at MSS in November for 4 nights and will absolutely do that again. It is off of Fremont so this may not be an option for what you are looking for.

Thanks for the input esp about the resort fees. The bachelor is actually going to pay for the hotel the rest of the trip so being able to stay at the golden nugget for $50 each for one night with our own beds (approx $100 on orbitz with a promo code) Is worth it if the location is good in relation to freemont. Thanks again.

The Nugget, Four Queens, Fremont, D, Golden Gate & Plaza are all on Fremont. Well technically Plaza faces Fremont but now we're splitting hairs.

Main Street is 1.5 blocks away and Cal is one block away.

Some here have said the walk to one of the Nugget towers feels like at least a block walk.

If location is all you care about then Fremont, 4 queens, The D and the Golden Nugget will make you happy. Literally all things downtown are close though and it's hard to go wrong with location. If money isn't an issue then the Golden Nugget will be the nicest place. If you're going to just sleep and nothing else, I'd pick one of the other places and save a few bucks for gambling.

GN is nice and the pool is awesome. Just a $5 fee on top of the rate.

I thought the 4 Queens gave awesome value for money. Really good deal. Nothing wrong with the place either. But, I don't think you could go wrong with Golden Nugget. There's also a hardcore group of Fremont fans around here who like the place.

It sounds as if you won't even get downtown until 10:30 pm or so and are checking out the next day so I wouldn't bother paying extra for a suite or to stay at GN. Any of the others mentioned, Freemont, 4Q, D, would be fine for a few hours to crash.

Another vote for the Fremont or 4Q...both would be fine and are right where you want to be.

I just thought of another option that could save you a few bucks. You didn't mention transportation so I'm assuming you're cabbing or shuttling it from the airport. I'm wondering if hitting Ellis Island's fine Super 8 motel might be an option. Cheaper to get there anyway. It sounds like you're going to grab a late dinner, have a few drinks and crash anyway.

If having a pool is important to you than I would suggest the nugget. Many of the others mentioned (Fremont) do not have pools on their property.
