From what I remember (and I was there Halloween) the sea food buffet at the Freemont is one of my all time favorites. All the pealed or un pealed shrimp, crab legs and claws .. Plus all the other stuff available. To me if you like sea food and go away hungry it's your own fault..
Not to mention the brownies to top off a fine dinner.
If you haven't tried it I'd recommend doing so..
    Good luck and great play.

    Snow crab.

I didn't even know Freemont had a buffet.
But we were there Halloween too. It was good. Not super high end or anything, but a good value for $18 or whatever it was.

It was a fair value ($18.00?) last time I ate at the seafood buffet. Tons of shrimp and the crab legs were piled high (cold and sometimes still frozen). There was a bin of hot legs but that gets mobbed as soon as it gets out, lol!

Problem for me at the time I went (last march) the crab legs were kinda small and spindly and I got tired fast trying to crack and eat them.

It was o.k., though. For $18.00.....:thumbsup:

Must be the down to earth, friendly, laid back, un-pretentious people mingling around. I hear that's rare to see nowadays.

And heaven forbid... they're eating at a seafood buffet for UNDER $20.00....
Oh... my goodness!! I can't be seen here, for godsake....!

I never tried the seafood buffet at Fremont, but couldn't find much I liked at their standard buffet. Not being a snob, just an opinion of their food found on the day I went. I wasn't impressed with MSS's buffets during my past two visits and Gold Coast also dropped a lot of good food choices in the past few years.

I'm fine at several other casual dining options downtown, from the El Cortez hot dog cart to Binion's cafe, 777 or Magnolias and The California Cafe next to Redwood (with salad bar). I also like Redwood.

For buffets, I prefer Bellagio (lunch price before 3) & Wynn for high end, Mirage and PHo for mid range, and Red Rock or Orleans for bargain priced buffets.

I'd give the Fremont seafood buffet a try if I can view the offerings first.

    Re...

We have tried both rio seafood Fantasy, and fremont seafood buffet... In my opinion if I just jusdged on seafood only, I would rather go to fremont especially at half the price.

If you are not joking, it is at the Fremont Hotel and Casino down town. Seafood nights are Tuesdays and Fridays.

    Thanks =)

I am new to downtown. But I'm thinking I just might like it better there than 8 years on the strip!

For around $20, you get calamari, mahi, salmon, crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, oysters, etc.
Sure, it's not primo quality, but it not low grade either.
Love to use the LVA 2-1 on it.

I have recommended the Fremont seafood buffet for a long time for the value. Admittedly it was better a few years back when they served lobster claws, but even at a higher price now it still has a lot to offer.

As chef says there are a lot more offerings than just crab legs. I usually go for the cold shrimp, shrimp scampi, steamed clams, & salmon. They also have a carving station plus Italian/Mexican/oriental areas.

The ACG now has a coupon for earn 250 points for a free buffet. I hope it includes seafood night!

Forgot about the steamed clams. Those were quite good last time we ate there. Thanks for reminder.

Is that all in the same place? The lady I'm going with isn't a big fan of seafood(shocker I know). So I wouldn't want to be pigging out on sea food while she just sat there.
