Table Games Any vegas BJ switch experts out there.

I like to play bj switch every once in awhile. Are there still any switch games on the strip that use a regular 6-8 deck shoe. I know last time I was there seems most I noticed were auto shufflers. Also, do any strip casinos still count a switched bj as an automatic win. And I know this one is a long shot, but do any switch casinos in vegas stand on soft 17. Thanks for any answers anyone has.

 

they only place ive found that doesnt use csm is the palms the use a straight shoe,never asked if 6 or 8 deck.

mlif and casino royal all ive seen is csm

and to the 21 no ive never seen it. you can still push if a dealer gets 22

soft 17 ive never seen either.

Cet casinos have them. At least paris and ballys for sure. The one casino in the past that did have switch with a shoe was cosmo. And even 15 min during the day. But in oct it was a 25 min and I dont like to start switch that high.

 

MGM had switch last year April w/ 6 deck no CSM

I believe it was a $10 table so you'll be playing $20 total. It was located in proximity to Hakkasan because I remember the parade of mini skirts & dresses from the gals coming from the club

 

The problem with the MGM game is you push a switched blackjack vs. 21 or 22.

Palazzo and Venetian are the only two Strip switch games which do not have CSM but do pay on switched BJs vs. 21 or 22.

 

Wow, venetian has switched blackjacks paid right away. And they dont have csm. That is perfect. This is the kind of info I was wanting to find out. Do you know what the minimums are during the day and night. If they are anything lower than 25.00 min, that makes this one of the lowest house edge bj games on the strip. Especially under 100 min bet.

 

I thought Casino Royale was the last place to do that and they stopped a few years ago I believe. Maybe I'm wrong per the poster above. I hope so!

 

Does V/P pay 3:2 on the blackjack? or even money?

 

Even money - but you don't run the risk of pushing your switched blackjack if the dealer hits 21 or 22. V/P pays immediately, all others you must wait until the dealer finishes their hand. You get paid even money immediately if you are dealt a BJ on one or both hands naturally. This only comes into play if a switch results in a BJ.

 

interesting subtle change, not sure if it would draw me to go down to V/P to play BJ switch, but a nice little change in favor of the player

 

If your going to play switch anywhere near v/p, then it would be worth the walk to play there. Unless you are playing for smaller stakes and purely for fun. But think about it this way, switching to a bj is not that uncommon. I would think this could happen 7-10 times an hour easily. Lets say your average bet is 25.00, I could see an average of 2 times the dealers hitting to 21 or 22 out of that 7-10 times. Both which would push instead of win. That is costing you prob around 50.00 an hour on a 25 ave bet. Say you play for 4 hours, that is 200.00. And that would be enough for me to walk a little bit if I feel like playing switch over regular bj. These are just guesses and could be way off.

 

That's a lot of assumptions. The Wizard puts that rule change at 0.40%. I don't have a calculator..is that about $10 per hour if you play 100 hands per hour @ $25/hand? 100 hands per hour is a lot but made my mental math easier (still might have messed it up though so will come back after I check).

 

I play a lot of BJ Switch.

MGM Grand has two tables of BJ switch from a 6 deck shoe. Monte Carlo uses a 6 deck shoe as well. And Luxor uses an 8 deck shoe.

Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, NYNY, Aria, Bellagio, and The Mirage all use CSMs.

I think Paris might have a shoe for theirs as well, but I don't play much at CET properties so I can't comment for sure.

 

Any switch game available with a $5 minimum?

bills used to have that. But they are renovating now. But no more I know of now for sure. Maybe casino royale. Maybe Excalibur on weekday days. But those would be my only guesses on the strip.

 

Excalibur usually has it during the day for $5 (and that table is usually BUSY because of it).

I've seen it for $5 at NYNY early in the day. I've even seen it for $5 at the MGM Grand, but that was right after they opened the table up in the morning and didn't last long.

 

No casino in las vegas pays on switched bj's vs 21 or 22

I just got back from Las Vegas. I went to the Palazzo and the Venetian to play blackjack switch because of this thread. When I ask if they payed on switched bj's vs 21 or 22 the dealer looked at me like I was crazy. I talked to the pit boss and he told me no one did that.

 

Yeah, those pushes on dealer 22's are a deal breaker for me. The 6:5 aspect of this game makes it even more brutal.
