Just wondering, if you could change one thing about Las Vegas - anything, no matter how illogical, what would it be?

For me it would be no children on The Strip - not on the sidewalks, not in the hotels, restaurants, not anywhere! No strollers taking up valuable space, no kids screaming while we're trying to enjoy a meal...how glorious it would be! :evillaugh

    One thing? Good luck...

Dress code after 6:00. At least in shows, dining, and high limit salons.

I like the kids one one on the strip and etc. I'd like to see the Sin return to Sin City and the families just go on to Disney World or where ever.

Since the kids one was already used I'll go............

The elimination of the hawkers on the streets snapping the escort cards and the even more annoying hawkers pimping free shows/condo sales.

I would institute "warning labeling" similar to what you see on cigarettes, food, etc so that each game must have a label clearly showing the house advantage, variance, and especially an "expected cost per hour" of play.

No groups of people making a line from one end of the sidewalk to another. Absolutely annoying, especially when they give you an attitude after you say "excuse me" to them. I also hate when people do a sudden stop as well.

Make gambling the focus again. Forget about the day/night clubs. Oh, and get rid of kids in the casino.

The sudden stop people are the worst!

I agree with pretty much everything so far - except the price of hookers and day/nightclubs because I don't know anything about them. The timeshare people really annoyed me this trip, way more than the people handing out hooker cards. I'm guessing I only noticed it so much this time because I'm now in their target market (married).

So far it sounds like many of us want the same thing - an adult playground!

Big problem for me too... I'm a big guy and I walk with purpose, but my wife say's I'm the ultimate in swivel-head, which means I'm always looking' the other way and I don't stop on a dime. I've plowed into many folks who suddenly stop and can't think of a time when I got the worst of it.

If I could change one thing of Vegas as is today, I would ban all Strip human impediments (porn card, beggars (costume and all others), bottle water / CD / night club pass people, time share hawkers, etc.. I have enough people asking for money every day walking to/from the train & lunch downtown and would like to have a peaceful break on vacation (I even had a beggar approach me playing VP at NYNY).

If I could turn back Vegas time, I'd freeze the Strip as of the late 1990s / early 2000s with Stardust and Desert Inn on the Strip (wouldn't mind the Wynn built on Sand's or City Center land).

Where's the fun in that? That's why it's called gambling!

The monorail would service both sides of the Strip and go to Downtown and the Airport.

Gambling is front and center, not pushed back on the backburner.

Timeshare kiosks in the Hotels for those who want to inquire but no timeshare hawkers aggravating the guests.

Panhandlers/beggars, water sellers, costumed characters, porn slappers prohibited on the Strip and Downtown.

I know, I know... only one change but I couldn't help myself. Above things will never happen but you said no matter how illogical.....:rolleyes2:

    1. Monorail running down the middle of the strip with service service from downtown to the airport.

The beggars, costume characters, slappers, timeshare hawkers, and club promoters don't bother me because they aren't that intrusive nor ubiquitous.

Anyway, draw a line down the sidewalk and have people learn to walk on the right, move to the side if they are stopping, and watch where they are walking.
I can't stand people that are looking in one direction and walking in another or walking on the left when everyone else is walking on the right so they are going into "oncoming traffic".

    Pay attention!
