I was looking at plane tickets for Vegas in a few weeks. I noticed they are extremely cheap (<$200). They are usually $300-400 for weekends. Are tickets this cheap elsewhere?

Should I book a ticket and go to Vegas for 36 or 48 hours to bet on NFL playoffs? Has anyone gone by themselves? Not sure if my friends can go so this may be a solo trip.

Damn, if I could find airline prices that cheap I too would be going at least one more extra trip.

Going solo or not is a personal preference. I find it more fun and prefer to not go solo. Other than that I let available bankroll determine if a trip is feasible.

An underfunded trip is not a fun trip.

    Why not? Do it!!

I'm only in LA but I've set myself up on airfarewatchdog.com and they e-mail me when the fairs to Vegas are low. I flew twice this year and only paid like $100 round trip. Pretty great!

My first few trips were with others, last few, solo. IMHO solo IS the way to go. But to each his/her own.:peace:

No idea where you are flying from. From Tennesse we see prices from under $150 each to way to over $400 or more each way. Ticket prices can be all over the place.

So, I think your real question is:

    a) something about ticket prices
    b) Does anyone go by themselves?
    and
    c) Should I go to Vegas to bet on NFL playoffs?

im going in April from milwaukee through Southwest, $187 there on a saturday and $156 on the way home on a tuesday April 5-8th. every other airfare site ive looked at is way more than that and are not direct flights. plus southwest has no baggage fees

If you are just going to bet the NFL I think I would try to find someone with an offshore account to bet with or a connection to a local outfit.

Now if you are talking about the crowd / the excitement / the comraderie of screaming at the TV monitor for good or bad then go and enjoy.

But otherwise the airfare alone could be lost on the bet(s) and you are not out anything including time from your original bankroll.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be very interested to see the results. Looking for a trip back to LV in September with two other couples. All of us will be on a budget (for flight and hotel anyway)

I just booked my flight for May from Milwaukee. I have been looking for
reasonable airfare since September and could not find any.
So I am flying Frontier and have a short layover in Dever on the way
there. Not a problem. However on the way back is a 6 hour layover.
Cost of it was 292.00. Not bad since everything I been seeing is over
    325.00.
However a 6 hour layover in Denver might not be so bad with the new
    pot law in place. :evillaugh

I too am a solo traveler to Vegas since mom passed. I love it.
I do my own thing and rember the times when mom and I was there
    together.

Sorry for the long post. :popcorn
