Yeah a known name and Cromwell is bleh.

However, a name is what you make it. If it's a good product, the name slips off the tongue with no problem.

I like it. Cromwell Field at University of Southern California is named after a legendary USC football coach and used by some of the finest Track & Field athletes in the country.
Barbary Coast>Bills>Ganesvoort>Cromwell will now be a college dorm based in Vegas for the rich kids from So Cal. The room capacity is perfect for the college crowd.

UGH!!! Someone really needs to fire the folks doing branding and marketing for CET. I wonder what CET is trying to tie into?

    Cromwell possible meanings:

    - A bad 1970's movie?
    - Thomas Cromwell the minister of King Henry VIII of England?
    - Oliver Cromwell English Military leader?
    - Cromwell Urban Dictionary definition of someone who doesn't engage in cunnilingus; **Note they also have one for a sexual act with a horse.

Uhhh seriously CET? Sentences heard on the las vegas strip. "Hey dude lets go party at The Cromwell, they have bangin hotties at that place." - Said no person ever.

Don't rename a casino, rename the organization. Far as I'm concerned, the people who destroyed Caesars Palace should still call themselves by their correct name: Ha$$ah'$. Class and Ha$$ah are mutually exclusive, whatever snobby sounding name they put on a place.

Uh oh, I have to agree with Busyman. :poke:

The name Cromwell sounds dumb to me too but if they turn it into a popular place the name could end up seeming to fit well.

Who would have ever thought a name like Gansevoort sounded hip before they first opened? Or The Standard? That name probably sounded dumb as hell in the beginning. To me "Cromwell" sounds like the name of a crotchety old geezer, almost like a cartoonish caricature of someone like that. But who knows....

I personally liked the idea they posted on Vegas Chatter or somewhere to name it the "Go". To play off the Flamingo next door, as a hip/boutique sister property to a larger hotel. And then they could still use all the "G" related designs they planned to use for Gansevoort. :evillaugh

Yup, who'd have thought Nintendo Wii would work or a company named Apple.

Call your company Orange and it will sound weird.

Oh and Cromwell is an old geezer.

Unless they return to having plentiful 3:2, two-deck blackjack w/DAS at $5 to $10 minimums, they would be tarnishing the name and memory of a once-great strip casino.
