Hi I just received 3 comp nights at Flamingo, Rio, Bally's Harrah's or the Quad. Would not consider Quad or Harrahs, and have stayed at Flamingo, but between Ballys and Rio what would you recommend? Are the rooms nicer at Bally's or Rio? and what room types do you recommend?

ballys if you can get the new tower.

the quad if its after its renovation could be one of the nicer properties

flamingo is the nicest if you cant get ballys new tower

so flamingo first then ballys if new tower only

or depending on when your stay is the quad

I stayed at Bally's and Rio this year. My first choice would be Bally's, very convenient with a mid strip location. Rio is nice, and although it's off strip it's still a quick hop, skip, and jump to the Strip, either by car or the shuttle.
And Bally's and Rio rooms are larger than the others.
I got the same promo but i'm not going till the Spring. But i will probably stay at Bally's once again.
    Have fun.

    Thank you Sonya.........

I would go for Ballys as well. I get the same comps from total rewards and always opt for Ballys for several reasons.

-$20 tip at check in ALWAYS works at ballys, so you can easily get into the Jubilee tower or even a suite.
    -Location, Location, Location
-Staff at Ballys always seems friendlier than elsewhere.

I like both Bally's and Rio for the larger than average size rooms and floor to ceiling windows. The edge goes to Bally's for the excellent location but Rio rooms have a small fridge if that makes a difference to you, not to mention that strange little window that looks from the room into the shower in some rooms.:confused2:

By the way, will be at Rio from the 26th to the 1st. Stop by and say hi.

I take it you have never stayed in the North Tower rooms at Ballys?!?

    Anyway:
To answer the original question, I would most strongly suggest Ballys over Rio.

The Rio has become quite run down through out the property. Where as Bally has been maintained. The North Tower rooms are very nice and big, the only down side to Ballys are the old rooms in the South tower, but those are being remodeled.

    Rio

Just got back from a great stay at the Rio. That place rocks now. They have remodeled most rooms now and the rooms are all very large suites. Living rooms area with couch and recliner, desk area, large king bed, flat screen LCD TV, free fridge, stocked fridge , Kurig coffee pot, large closest with safe. Still with all this lots of floor space. Yes off strip just a bit but free shuttles ( 2 of them ) run about every 20 minutes. Many places to eat. Nice places to eat. VP was friendly there .

    So I would say Rio.

I would do Bally;s (or Flamingo) if only for the location.

I would recommend you stop looking at offers and instead just look at the rate calendar for the entire month, after you have logged in of course.

    Check out this post

Oh yea, unless there is something special to you about the RIO - I would never book it. Vegas to me is the strip. Walking the strip. Period.

    Ballys or Rio

we are comped at ARia 2 nights and comped at Encore for 3... so now the choice is Bally's or Rio since we have stayed at Flamingo many times and unless you have a GO room or suite, I find it run down.. We also have a car.

I just got back this afternoon from a stay at Bally's. I have stayed at Rio. I like both of the properties for room size. Bally's is my go to property. I love the staff and location. It has everything I need and is connected to Paris. I always stay in the north tower and find the rooms clean and never had a problem with them. My wife did not care for RIO. I enjoyed it. I also like flamingo and harrah's. The Quad is coming along nicely the rooms not so much at this time. I always get to check in before noon and at Rio I had to wait for a room. Both are fine and the shuttle runs to the strip so don't let that sway you.

Bally's location is great of course but I prefer Rio. Their shuttles run frequently to Bally's and Harrah's so it's easy to get to the strip and I prefer Rio's rooms and casino to Bally's. And I like the Palms and Gold Coast which are just across the street. But if it's important for you to be in the middle of things then Bally's definitely.

I stayed at the Rio last trip...and I'll say this: If you're wanting to play low-limit 3:2 two-deck blackjack with DAS, you will not find that anywhere on the strip (with Circus possibly being the sole exception).
Rio doesn't have it either, but the Gold Coast does! Plenty of $5 & $10 minimum tables with no waiting. And that's only a 4 minute walk from the Rio.

Even if Bally's didn't have the new rooms it would be Bally's, location, location, location.

Whichever property you choose, I hope it's on the first couple nights of your trip.
Moving to Rio or Ballys after Aria and Encore will be a major downgrade.

Bally's has the better location and the added benefit of being connected to Paris.

Since the primary reason for booking a certain room is for sleeping or lounging for a bit, I would suggest Rio. The rooms are much larger than the standard rooms of other CET properties.

Being off-strip has it's plusses, such as no strip noise when trying to sleep. The shuttle from Rio takes you to Ballys or Harrahs.

    I would take Rio.

We all have different feelings when it comes to rooms.

Our primary reason for booking a room is OT just for sleeping/lounging. Then again, maybe it is. But, I would take a regular room at Paris over a Suite at Rio anytime. Taking a shuttle after drinking and playing all night is a major negative for me.

The suggestion above works for some people. Just not for us.

True. Everyone has their likes and dislikes when it comes to rooms.

I just discovered Rio last spring and fell in love with the rooms. This is after staying at all other CET rooms numerous times (just once at Caesars though).

If my wife and I were still drinkers, I may feel differently about taking the shuttle back at the end of the day.

Is Ballys doing that shopping center thing? That was my best people watching area on the strip. Has that started yet? Are they still going to do it?
