The whole place looks different. The dancing dealers are hot, the cocktail service is very quick, the place is the cleanest I've seen in years, the blackjack rules are solid and some of the video poker pay tables are very good.

In May I saw a homeless guy asleep in the back area by the closed bar. This trip the place was always busy and everyone was having a great time. Great to see another downtown property improving.

    Sounds good........

In October the place needed cleaning, had continuous shuffle machines and the place was empty. There were a few people in the "gift shop".:rolleyes2:

Would like to see this property come back, but, I'll believe it when I see it!
    Good luck.:beer::beer:

Wow! Not the impression I got last month. The place was dead and I really did feel sorry for the poor girl dancing on the little stage just off of Fremont St.

    I'll look again starting Friday.

More questions about Las Vegas Club

I am totally confused... late summer or early fall I read online that the Las Vegas Club was closed even to through traffic to go out the back door... now you say they are open... what has happened? Is the whole casino really open or are just a few things open in the casino area... are their at least 20 people inside. Last time I was there, at least a year or two ago, I could count the patrons on my fingers without having to go to my toes. I googled Las Vegas Club and most everything referred me to the Plaza. I'll be downtown Dec. 25-31 and am curious about the real scoop on any casino action there.

I walked through several times last week going back and forth to MSS.

It was dead and sad every time. But they were reworking one of the slot areas, so they haven't given up, yet.

I spent a good amount of time playing there in Sept. It really depends on what time of day, or even what day of the week your In there. The Weekend nights, its not too bad actually. I played at the DD game, which has excellent rules with a $10 minimum. The best penetration I have ever seen of a DD game anywhere. I cleaned up. No heat at all. Problem is, the table is rarely open.

The dealers I had were for the most part, very good, and knew the games very well. One DD dealer I had knew Basic Strategy perfectly, strange since she was almost naked. The best dealer I had my whole trip, and the best I have had in a couple years dealt the 3CP all the time.

The drinks came so fast, I had a hard time keeping up, but I was tipping , unlike a lot of other patrons I saw.

I could still find 9/6 DDB, some not listed on VPfree. DW did well on the slots.

That back door, which opens out onto the Ogden & Main Street intersection, is still closed & locked up ... but you can go in & out the middle side door.

Thanks OhioGuy. I used to stay at the Vegas Club all the time when I started coming to Vegas about 15 years ago, and really enjoyed it (remember the Upper Deck?). Since then, the kind folks at MSS lured me away, maybe had something to do with the beers at 777. Anyway, I’d be more than happy to give VC some action again if things are as good as you say, will check it out next weekend.

That's good to hear. When we checked it out in November, they had moved some tables around and it looked much better. Í hope they do well.

I'm just giving you the gears here Oxygenator but your comment made me laugh! Unlike some men, women CAN be smart and naked at the same time :poke::thumbsup:

I dont think there are any renovations, they just closed the hotel because they were losing money and hoped to boost occupancy at the plaza, I dont think that is working either since the plaza is almost as dead as you can get and still be open.

Ohio Guy, your post actually is what got me shocked...lol! On my last trip in July, the LVC was dead as a doornail. It was on a weekday, though.

I hope what you posted continues and the LVC revives itself. I love Downtown and would really like to see this happen.:thumbsup:

I played in June on the job 9/6 which are gone. They had activity on and off.
I was also in there in October not packed but they had some action in the slot and dancing girl area. my action a couple of hour on the job brought me no offers, even with the exchange in players club.

I certainly hope LVC can regain it's luster. Last I heard they had hired The Amazing Jonathan to redesign the casino (for real lol) but that must have fallen through. But downtown needs a strong LVC, it used to be one of my favorite places to play and stay.

Actually there was some renovation being done awhile ago. I stayed at the LVC at the beginning of 2012. They used the extras from the plaza upgrade to change the carpets in the south tower. It also looked like they were putting in new wallpaper (wall sockets were left out, wall pictures were taken off) and upgrading the vanity area. I am not sure if the reno was ever completed. I think they wanted to make the LVC like another plaza but the plaza bombed so they probably put a stop to renovations. It wasn't long before they also closed down the rooms so only the casino is open now. IMHO, I don't expect much good going on at the LVC until it is sold to owners who know how to run the hotel/casino business. :Þ

I will visit the place next month but contrary to OhioGuy I don't have high expectations that the changes were anything more than cosmetic. IMHO, you can dress up a pig but it is still a pig, you would think with the improving economy they would reopen the rooms (also at binions) but with more rooms from the DTG it doesn't look like the hotel will reopen soon.

Sorry VV I just cannot believe you. Nothing personal... but if Amazing Jonathan designed a Casino that would be fucking awesome! There is nothing about the LVC that has been remotely fucking awesome in at least twenty years?

Well except this place has literally smelled like a fresh fart for at least twenty years... what in the world could cause that? Awesome in an amazingly bazaar kind of way, No? :eek2
