    Hey all, I'm in town for a week this month for the 1st time in years, staying Ballys & Golden Nug. Im a poker junkie and trying to figure out the "best" poker room in a weeks time is about impossible...basically they are all the same except for the tourist/local makeup. I play mainly 1/2nl and the occasional tourney.

    Opinions of your fav poker room is welcome, and I am curious which rooms go above and beyond with promotions (AA cracked for example) and things instead of just slingin cards.

    And I love a good story so throw your latest bad beat up.

    Me...I sit down 1st hand in BB, not even really settled yet, dealt 5/J diamond and let it flop. goes round and round ends up with just me and SB, board is 7h7d2d, Ad, river junk. We endup all in and turns out the f*cker called originally for a $1 on his "favorite hand" of 7/2! Poker.

    Recommend any CET room, they have the super jackpot over all casinos and if hit, everyone at every live table gets a cut. I don't know where to find the latest number on the jackpot online, but it hit while I was in Vegas last time and anyone playing poker at a CET casino out there got $5900!

    Not sure if they still do it, but last time I was there the Venitian had $2/hr in comps. No oddball promos though. Good tourneys too, if I remember correctly. Not to mention the beverage service.:wink2:

    Don't know how many hours you think you can play in a week, but Binions has the following cash back available (not comps).....

    In a calendar month: (can qualify multiple times)
    25hrs = $75
    50hrs = $200
    75hrs = $375
    100hrs = $600
    125hrs = $900 (Over $7 an hour!)

    Also Sunday, Monday, and Thurday Night Football Promo from 5p-9p where top 3 hands win:

    1st = $300
    2nd = $200
    3rd = $100

    I referred that site to someone on the board last month. Pretty accurate as I used it during the summer.

    Personally I always hit Aria. I liked Monte Carlo's room, seemed like a lot of regulars though. Planet Hollywood was real nice and depending on the time would determine the type of play there. Harrahs had a lot of loose players at it when I played there.

    The Mega Beat jackpot at the CET casinos hit on November 27 for just under $767 000. Royal flush took down quad jacks. I'm not sure at what dollar amount it resets at now that it has paid out.

    Poker story:
    At the Stardust some number of cash game hours earned a freeroll entry. First hand sitting middle position dealt KK. Under the Gun makes a big raise, I go allin. Called by Big Blind and UTG. Third best hand...LOL. UTG=AA, BB=AKd. Flop included A. Good that was a freeroll.

    Venetian is a great room. Wynn has 1-3 NL and is a beautiful room, they treat you well and are good with the food comps.

    You have to realize, if you don't already, that you pay for the promo's. Any bad beat type stuff comes out of every pot. It ain't free.

    The Mirage has Aces cracked from 10am-2 daily for $75 although at 1-2 you'll surely lose money if it happens. You won't find aces cracked much anymore. Mirage also has Quad and Royal high hands anytime. MGM has a good promo going on now. CET jackpot isn't getting hit again soon. It's quad acess beat and the room volume is low because the jackpot just reset.
