Hi everyone, I am going with my finance the dreaded weekend of Dec 19th and she has never been there. Any suggestions on a few nice places places to eat that are crucial for someone that has never been to vegas ie that restaurant at the Belagio?

And buffet wise... wicked spoon? any others?

Also any economical options that would be nice??

    Thank you everyone.

Nice, economical, and picturesque! You're demanding, :poke:

Well, there are plenty of threads on economical dining. I will suggest a couple that have great views: Eiffel Tower restaurant (great overhead view of the fountains and sunset, depending on when you eat), Mizumi (sit by the lake at Wynn), or Foundation Room (look down the entire Strip form the top of Mandalay Bay)

It's a toss up for me....

    On Strip: Eiffel Tower restaurant
Off Strip: NOVE Italiano at the Palms

    Neither are cheap though....

    Forgot to mention...

The Buffet at the Wynn is an awesome higher end buffet for a reasonable price. We just ate there on Sunday and I think it was around $35 each!

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is picturesque and not too expensive. But you want to sit outside and that cannot be reserved as far as I know.

If Mizumi at Wynn or SW, are too expensive then go to Parasol down at night for a cocktail. They are not cheap but 2 cocktails are far less expensive than a meal for two!

Mon Ami is nice and correct, you can't reserve outdoor seating.

I also like Olives at Bellagio - not terribly expensive and has an amazing patio overlooking the fountains. Again, you can make reservations for the restaurant itself, but will have to wait for outdoor seating since that's where everyone wants to sit.

ETA - just looked at Olives menu - it's been a few years since I've been there, and I don't remember it being so costly! Although if I remember correctly, I think my husband and I just split a few appetizers (beef carpaccio - mmmm) and had a salad each and that was fine. Still got to enjoy the amazing view!

    Picturesque places to eat

I would recommend the Stratosphere Tower Restaurant but only for lunch. Way too expensive at night but lunch isn't bad. Tremendous view from up there.

    Buffet wise.. Cosmo and Aria

Restaurant wise... Sugar Factory if you can get a patio table since it's across the street from Bellagio's fountains. Too bad they're renovating their patio though..

Olives for the fountain and ambiance. But only if seated on patio.

MAG for great people watching and better food.

Eiffel Tower for REALLY good food, awesome night view

I like both, but I would pick ET. Better view and better food.

My wife and I enjoy eating at the Outback steak house over Casino Royale. We've eaten there twice. The bone-in ribeye was great, $26.

If you sit in the right places you can watch the Volcano erupt at the Mirage.

We did this just a month ago. It was very nice and relaxing. Wasn't cheap, but we thought it was a bargain for what it was, and where it was.

Be wary if going to Mon Ami Gabi or Sugar factory over the next few days/week.

Between the restaurants and Las Vegas Blvd there is construction with some tarps and things up that not only block some of the views, but the noise was pretty loud

On a nice day, MAG is great on the terrace. Good food, reasonable value and a nice setting.

I am going to go cheaper lol - Cheesecake factory in Forum shops sat out the front watching the fish and the atlantis show is pretty good fun. Or if you want to sit outside PJ Changs at Planet Hollywood? (avoid sunset though its blinding!!!!)

Without actually answering your question (since people are giving great advice already), let me just strongly suggest that you call any restaurant you're considering in advance and make sure they're going to be open. We're in midst of the quiet season where a lot of restaurants in Vegas tend to shut down for renovation/vacation/whatever, and it'd suck to have your heart set on a place and head out there only to find that they're closed.

Best view I've ever had is an outdoor table at Mix at The Hotel. I preferred it to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant.
