Now that the WAX stops at the Suncoast, staying there is more doable without a car but where do you find a deal? I have never been there so there won't be any comps coming, and I don't think Boyd properties sell to brokers cause I don't ever remember seeing them on Kayak or the other third party brokers. I checked their website and prices seemed high. Jimbo338
Jimbo, do you have a bconnected player's card? If so, go to www.bconnectedonline.com and register to sign in. There you will find deals for all of the bconnected properties.
I've never played or stayed at Suncoast but looking at Bconnected I can get a Ruby discount from $33 a night, regular rate is from $39 a night. They also have packages from $39 a night with a $10 per night food and beverage credit. Actual prices will vary by date.
Jimbo, I realize this doesn't help your situation, but you might want to take the WAX out there and prime the pump, so to speak. Play for a couple of hours, take the WAX back and see if you get any offers for future play. I was on a solo trip in March and decided to mix it up a bit. I took the WAX out to Suncoast from MSS, played $1 VP for no more than 2 hours and now I get mailers for 2 nights free almost every other month. I know VMBer "gambler" & spouse did a similar thing and have been getting some really good offers. Granted, all of these might be teaser offers to get you to stay there instead of somewhere else, but worth a try maybe. It is a nice property and was one of our favs when we lived there.
Listen to Joe – he gives good advice. I think Friday will make our 18th consecutive stay at Suncoast, which I doubt would happen if not for some generous offers. Give 'em a try.
I'm curious... Do you guys think free room are easier at Suncoast than say...MSS or GC or Orleans? I know Sams Town is EASY...but it's a HAUL out there...
For me it's hard to say. As I mentioned, after going in March and playing for 2 hrs, the 2 night offers started coming. I don't know how far back they look at history. 2008-2010, we played there at least once a week, usually more. The March play I gave them was the first since early 2010. The WAX does make SC incredibly accessible from the airport or downtown. My hesitation is that besides a half mile walk to Rampart casino, there isn't much around if you are staying there. It is essentially in a residential/office neighborhood. Angel Park golf course is just a couple of blocks away. Directly across the street they had all the iron work up for a mixed use building, but the economy did that in. I don't know if it has gotten any further. My references are all w/o a car. i enjoy adult beverages.
