I am going to Vegas next month and found comparable prices on MGM and Treasure Island, I have never stayed at either, but have visited both several times. The location isn't a big deal to me, but I wanted input on the rooms. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

MGM 100%, the whole property was remodeled, all the rooms. Versus TI has just gone down hill for the past few years, also they closed the pirate show, and they are doing construction out front. I'd stick with MGM.. Especially if the price is comparable.

MGM has a lot more to offer that TI.
Some say it is too large but I have never had problems navigating as it is well signed.
Rooms have been renovated within the last year also.

Yes, MGM is very very big, and busy. But I still think the pros are way better than anything TI has.

I’ve stayed at both places a few times and actually preferred TI’s rooms and food, but this was about 5 years ago so can’t comment on the current state of things. I have a pretty good sense of direction but for some reason I just couldn’t find my way around at MGM, whereas TI was a relative breeze. I’d say the main advantage of MGM at this point is the Mlife network – if you give MGM some decent action, you can expect deep discounts or comps at other properties a few months down the road, several of which are preferable to MGM in my opinion. Anyway, these are the kind of choices you don’t mind making, there's not really a bad option – hey, you’re in Vegas!

MGM is too big for my taste but I'd take it over TI every day of the week.

I actually found a great deal on Planet Hollywood and love the location. How are the rooms there?

PH rooms are pretty good, and as you said great location. I like the place.

I stayed at TI twice and enjoyed it, overall.

It has it's drawbacks with a tiny pool and food choices that have changed dramatically for the worse.

On the plus side, if you score a south view on a high floor, it is one of the best views in Las Vegas. A true "wow" moment when you open the drapes at night. I am one of the few who like TI's casino, because I always seem to do well there.

MGM is huge and crowded, but the pool complex is a great bonus and the restaurants, casino and location overcome the negatives.

The crowds are the big factor in your decision. If you can live with that, the MGM is the clear winner.

    From your choices

Id pick PH first then MGM and TI

Ph has good room, lots of food option, the mall, elevator less than 1 min from strip, fun vibe in the casino

If we are going by ROOMS, MGM wins hands down.

PH's rooms are a definite downgrade from MGM. PH wins location though.

TI, meh. Never liked the vibe there.

Personally, I'd go with MGM. PH is a little dumpy for me, even though the casino is fun.

5 yeArs ago I would have listed out the pros and cons of ti vs hmm and they would have come out pretty much dead even, however it's no longer a contest. I was at ti in October and tried to play some slots. I at 3 separate machines and they all had heaping ashtrAys sitting on them. The place is just not for me anymore.
    As for mgm vs ph,
    Mgm wins:
    Better room amenities including beds
    Better food selection
    Better pool, way better pool
    Better service
    Better gambling, especially bj
    Better poker room
    Better spa

    Ph wins:
    Location
Better room views if you score a fountain view
Better players club if you are a low roller
    Better sexy dealer outfits

Had to walk through TI twice this week due to a detour when walking down the strip. The air freshener inside was so strong it made my eyes water. If I was staying there I would definitely be playing elsewhere.

Totally agree! Been awhile since I have been to TI, but I distinctly remember their aromatics to be on the strong side. I felt like I was actually allergic to the air there...constantly sniffling, sneezing, and watery eyes.

Another vote for MGM... It's big but you'll learn how to navigate it after about a day... Just be warned that if you make multiple trips from your room to the strip you'll be doing a lot of walking before you get off the property (Unless your in a west wing room). It's got something for about everyone and the remodeled rooms are great.

Would also say MGM , better end of the strip imo , good food choices and nice rooms.

I have not stayed at TI but did stay at that end of the strip (Venetian) and kept finding myself gravitating towards the south end of the strip.

Might also be something to do with winning some $ at MGM/Monte Carlo :licklips:

The fact that the TI has its own players club, makes me reluctant to run much money thru its slots. I do like the location a lot because of the surrounding casinos. I am still ticked about being over 60 and getting "carded" by some young whippersnapper at Gilleys.

I would pick MGM over TI but if you told me you were interested in shopping than go with TI because they are right next door to a HUGE mall and numerous food options.
Also, if you told me you will be going to/from your room a lot I would probably suggest TI because MGM is huge.
A lot really depends upon your criteria.
