Been to Vegas quite a number of times, but haven't stayed at either of these hotels. Through Mlife, for 3 nights (excluding tax and resort fees), I have $307 for Aria Deluxe room and $228 for MGM Grand King. Which one do you recommend?

I stayed at Mirage, TI, Caesar's before, as far as comparable resorts are concerned. I like to play blackjack and slots. Is the price differential worth it for Aria? I guess MGM's rooms are newer, so could it be a better deal?

I have stayed at MGM about 6 times (including in the refurbished room) and Aria 4 times. I think Aria is worth the extra money, but you really can't go wrong with either choice.

The standard room at Aria is better than the standard room at MGM (even with the update). I really like MGM, but the Aria is slighly better in all respects.

The only thing that MGM has that Aria doesn't is food court for low cost dining options. However, Aria is connected to Monte Carlo, and it's only a three minute walk to the MC food court.

Mgm is pretty comparable to the other places you have stayed at. Aria is a step or two above and this sounds like a no brainer to me. Aria is definately worth the extra money.

MGM is a good hotel but if age is over 40, Aria is the choice. A different younger crowd at MGM.

    Under 40, MGM.

Aria is worth the extra money here. Not only for the room, but better overall location.

On the other hand, though, I feel like Aria has much better casual-but-still-nice dining options, especially during the day. If you're looking to sit down and have lunch, MGM has Wolfgang Puck, Michael Mina Pub 1842, and Emeril's, plus Grand Wok and the coffee shop, while at Aria you've got Todd English Pub, Julian Serrano, Lemongrass, and Javier's, plus the coffee shop. Though I love the Michael Mina pub, I think Aria's restaurants are much better.

I used the MGM Winter escape code posted here on the board ( ZWINTER13 ) for an Executive King Suite at $300.00 for 3 nights excluding tax and resort ( $420 including) for Fri,Sat,Sun 01/10,11,12th. Not sure how that room compares to the Aria Deluxe room but comparable price.

No more Exec King Suites on the offer

OOPS. just went to see if this offer was still valid and they no longer are listing the Exec King or Queen Suites...

Without a doubt, Aria is the better hotel of the two.

I just stayed at MGM this past weekend and I'll never be back because the following reasons.

    Rude Front Desk.
    Long walk to the rooms.
Old and smelly feel when I walk in versus the fresh smell at Aria.
    Aria is newer.
Beds are more comfortable at Aria too.
