Is there anywhere besides the ..

PH Super Times and the Quad on the strip for 5c or 10c video poker?

    How about the Gold Coast?

    Any at Tuscanny?

    Or the Silver 7's.

Paris has some 5c VP. They are multi-denominational Game King single line machines if that's what you're looking for. Off strip at places like Stations you will find tons of them. Bally's also has one bank of 5c progressives.

My dad only plays 5c VP. We've played up and down the strip. For sure, I remember Bally's, Paris, PH, Cosmo, and Ellis Island. I believe there were others, as well. It's almost never full pay, but you're wagering 1/5 as much, so your theoretical loss is probably less!

Be sure and check Casino Royale. When I was there in sept they had nickel games that have pay tables the same as quarter varieties at the big strip properties.

VPFree2 says Gold Coast has 99.2% nickel loose deuces. Loose Deuces is really swingy though, as 4 Deuces is worth 10.7% of the game's return.

Ellis Island has nickel 98.91% Deuces.

There is a lot better selection of nickel games downtown with better paytables, check VPFree2 for details. On the Strip, single line nickel games will generally be bad and you'll often be better off 1-lining a nickel STP or Double STP machine. 6/5 Bonus will often be your best choice (7/5 Bonus at Planet Hollywood). Also if you feel like betting a minimum of $1 on a hand, Cosmo has 98.91% Deuces on the 100-play penny level, or 8/5 Bonus, 9/7 DB, or 9/6 DDB at the dime level for 2 hands or more on the 100-play unit.

OK, we are golden for our el cheapo day play, with advice of Ballys, Paris, PH, and maybe some other places listed here, THANKS!.

YES, the VP pay tables will be crap, but at a $10 buy in for single line VP = 200 credits, cheap!..

And at that level, nothing excites us about any payout anyways, including a RF at $200 (but that would still be sweet!).

It is just a cheap way to relax and enjoy the day play... :nworthy:

And it is so much cheaper than slots or tables...

After 3 rounds of nothing, we look at each other and say,

OMG, we both blew $30 each, how horrible, how awful.

Or we hit something and say, ooohhhh Quads on nickels, that will buy us a hotdog... Ohhhhhhh myyyyy, aren't you hungry now? I want chille on mine. :licklips:

Not sure if there is a casino that does not have the 5-10 cent VP.
The majority have the 50-100 play ranging from 1-25 cents a hand.

Even without the 100 play there are plenty of machines in the 5-10 range.

Keep in mind even if you see a 1.00 or 25 cent machine still stop and take a look because many machines will allow you to change denominations.

And considering you found 8/6 Boner Deluxe for quarters, it could have 8/5 bonus deluxe (97.68% w/stp) or even 8/6 (98.77% w/stp) for nickels. So I would def check Aria's STP machines.

In 2013, these are the best paying nickels I have found at mlife for the properties I looked at/played in. I have a major Super times pay bias, but often those will be some of the best nickel games available on the strip anyway. Stp and quick quads cost an extra credit per hand, and double stp costs an extra two credits per hand.

MGM Grand: 7/5 bonus 50-play quick quads (no min bet required) (98.01% w/o quick quads; 98.29% w/qq)
    6/5 bonus w/double STP (96.87% w/o stp; 97.36% w/dstp) both across from table games

    Mirage: 6/5 bonus w/double STP (96.87% w/o stp; 97.36% w/dstp) near hotel lobby.

Monte Carlo: 6/5 bonus 25-play (no min bet) w/stp (96.87% w/o stp; 97.13% w/stp) outside of poker and sports book

NY NY: 7/5 bonus 25 play w/stp ($1.50 min bet) (98.01% w/o stp; 98.29% w/stp) location ugh yeah. They were multi game units

Note STP doesn't require a strategy change. Quick quads does however, so I would not play quick quads without studying first. You can still play standard video poker on all of these games betting 5 credits a hand for whatever number of hands you choose.

    Regular 6/5 bonus strategy:

7/5 bonus is nearly identical to 6/5 except you never break a full house.

7/5 bonus strategy for quick quads:

Orleans has a long row of nickel progressive machines - near the poker room and food court. Two weeks ago, when I was there, I got a royal on one of them and won $409!!!!!

P.S. I had to look back at the pic I took - you are right - it's 10 nickels/50 cent bet!

5 nickels or 10 nickels? I'm guessing 10, but if it was 5, I'd keep my eye on those machines. Nice hit either way.

Just getting into VP and learning the lingo but I need a Rosetta Stone book to understand this foreign language of VP (the abbreviations) so is there a website or a sticky in this forum that explains the abbreviations?

Hard Rock has several low denomination VP machines around the outside edge of the main casino. They're on the wooden walkway that circles the main gaming area.
