Garth Brooks has announced a new run of eight concert dates for the fall. The country music superstar will return to the Wynn Las Vegas for a series of shows in the Encore Theater, beginning in October.

The entertainer, whose career total sales exceed 128 million, added the new dates after selling out a run of shows at the Wynn over the summer. Brooks has been in semi-retirement for a decade, taking time off from his career to raise his children and see them through school. He has not toured or recorded a new studio album in that time, though he has released singles sporadically and played select dates at the Wynn for several years.

Tickets for the upcoming Vegas dates are $175, plus a service charge and tax. All eight shows will go on sale at 10AM PST on Tuesday (Sept. 24). To purchase tickets, click here or call (702) 770-1000.

Shoot! I'm just barely going to miss him. Heck of a show, but I wonder why they dropped the ticket prices so much?

    LIVE on CBS - November 29th, 9/8c

Final Performance of Brooks' Critically Acclaimed One-Man Show

Oct. 28, 2013 Country music superstar Garth Brooks will perform a rare live broadcast concert special, "GARTH BROOKS, LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS," from the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas, Friday, November 29 (9:00 - 11:00 PM LIVE ET/ delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. This television concert event will feature Brooks' final performance of his critically acclaimed, one man show at the Wynn Las Vegas, which has played to sold out audiences for the past three years.

"GARTH BROOKS, LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS" will feature Brooks in a very intimate setting, playing his guitar as he takes the audience through the musical journey that led him to become the number one selling solo artist in U.S. history. He will share his experiences listening to different musicians throughout his life, starting with the music of Merle Haggard and George Jones. Then, other musicians who influenced him like Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, Otis Redding, Bob Seger, George Strait and many, many, more. Throughout the show, Garth will perform some of their classic songs and show you how they influenced his greatest hits.

"Blame it all on my roots," said Brooks, "This is the soundtrack of my life. Growing up the last of six kids, music was the life blood of our family and as you can imagine, mom, dad, and each kid had his or her own favorite stuff and it all funneled down to me."

"We're thrilled whenever we get the opportunity to create a television event with an amazing live performer, and there is no one better than Garth Brooks," said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials & Events. "Garth will give the audience a rare opportunity to not only hear his classic hits, but also the music that became the soundtrack of his life and how those influences from the country, rock and pop worlds set him on the road to become the biggest selling solo artist in history."

In 2009, Brooks announced that he was out of retirement and entered a multi-year "relationship" with Las Vegas resort developer Steve Wynn for performances at his Encore Theatre at the Wynn Las Vegas. The show has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "genius," by EW.com as an "absolute revelation," and Oprah Winfrey deemed it the "hottest ticket."

GAC is currently running a sort of preview of the November 29 concert, featuring some short clips from Garth's live Wynn show, tribute to his musical roots, and a lot of hype for his new boxed set. So now I gotta shell out for that for Christmas, bah humbug.

Among hat acts, Garth is one of the few I really like.

    Garth

Anyone else catch the Garth Brooks live concert fron Wynn on TV last night?

I thought it was awesome. I was there opening weekend, front row center. I have to admit I was WAY jealous of the women sitting in our seats last night

He must be gearing up for a tour. He's ending his show at Wynn, doing some talk shows and now this. I CANT wait!!

I enjoyed Garth on TV last night. He's still got the crazy eyes going. He's also a damn good guitar player.

Was this his typical show that he was performing at the Wynn or did he change it up for TV ?

Pretty typical, I think he hammed it up more last night. He took many more requests when I saw him, way more than last night. He also gave away one of his guitars to a woman in the audience when we saw him. He couldn't get it to play correctly and put it on the stage and got a new one. A woman yelled out she would take it, and he walked over and gave it to her. That was cool.

But for the most part, it was the same sort of show, a timeline of his life and musical influences. He also brought onstage the guy who originally sang "American pie" and sang the song with him. It was also cool when Steve Wynn, Sylvester Stallone and two other famous people, one a baseball player, walked in from the back, down the aisle and in front of the stage. We were able to say hello and shake their hands.

We had three VERY drunk marines sitting next to us, hooting and hollering. They just kept getting more and more obnoxious until they were escorted out. I was like "uh, I just met them and am so NOT with them". Lol. Security then brought down a couple who were seated in the very last row. Very cool for them.

Haven't watched the concert yet (recorded) but did watch Blame it All on my Roots on GAC last week and it was a nice background to the show & the concert (and I have the cd/DVD collection on my Wish List now:peace:)

It's going to be airing more in December if you get that channel - I'd say it's worth it.

That audience in the show last night was SUPER lame. (exceptions to the poster in this thread of course) -- looked bored...didn't know the words to anything but that dumb Billy Joel song... and so much plastic surgery you could build a lego gift set... but man was Garth on POINT. Loved that he brought out Trisha...good stuff. It sure does sound like a tour is coming since he justified retirement to take care of his daughters and he has made no qualms about repeatedly mentioning how they are all grown up now... Sure would love to see him and George Strait (last tour my ass) in concert together!

Haha. I knew every word to every song and sang them out loud. To the point, hubbie was just shaking his head in the other room.

I loved the show! I, too, sang along with every song, and especially loved that he included Sweet Baby James, and American Pie. Watching him run and jump around exhausted me, lol. All of the music brought back some wonderful memories.

The TV show was fun and contained many nostalgic moments, but to us it was not worth anything close to $250 a pop. Maybe Garth was a little self-conscious about TV, I agree the audience was lame, and most of all, the commercials spoiled the mood.

I suppose I'll have to drag my ass into Walmart before the boxed set sells out. Maybe my wife will devise some excuse to go there, and save me the trouble. I haven't been in a Walmart in quite some time.

Just watched the show from the other night. Pretty close to the show we saw a couple Decembers ago. Just watching it makes me wish I was in Vegas.

I thought it was a Walmart exclusive. Wife put the boxed set on her wish list, so I'll wait and see if the family gets it for her. If not, I'll check Amazon first.
