Airfare and room Mlife offer for Beau Rivage

Does anyone have any experience with this property?
I have never been, but the wife and I are "seriously" considering it due to the offer from Mlife.
Not sure I have received an offer that looks any better on paper than this before.

I actually was pretty shocked as my level of action in the casino wouldn't seem to warrant this type of offer. I probably spend 70% of my time in the poker room

 

I've never done a junket, but I have been in Beau Rivage and it's super nice. Never even know it's on water....sorta.....kinda.....maybe

But it's a huge place and looks like a LV casino and the rooms are nice from what I'm told

 

When you say that 70% of your time is spent in the poker room, do you mean at other MGM properties?

 

I think they are being aggressive. I just got a really nice offer from them too, 3 or 4 nights, $1500 in promo chips, 2 tix to any headliner, and some resort credit. I don't live in their region and only went there once pre-Katrina during a trip to New Orleans. I haven't received anything from them in years until this offer.

It's a nice place and I'd go back again, you can take a charter and go fishing or visit New Orleans.

 

Beware, their promo chips are not use until you lose.

the place is the best around but can be boring after a couple of days.

 

We took them up on that offer a couple of years ago. It's a beautiful property and the free airfare makes it almost irresistible. However, we are primarily dollar vid poker players and the pay tables are atrocious....8/5 DDB at the dollar level. Also, if you hit a taxable jackpot of $1200 or more, the state of MS takes a 3% cut and you can't get it back.

We got a big offer from them this last week too, but we're going to pass. Again, it's a beautiful property, but the gambling odds are very poor.

Yes in a typical trip the majority of the time for me is spent in the poker room. If it is a solo WPT or WSOP type trip then more than that, if my wife or friends are along it is usually less than 50% and even less if the friends are not poker players. We generally spend more time playing in the pit or slots having cocktails etc

This would make sense as I have never been to an Mlife property outside of Vegas. I'm in NC so you all can see how limited the gaming options are (ie NONE) well Harrah's Cherokee but I stick with my statement
That said, most of my time in Vegas for the past 3-4 years has been at various Mlife properties mainly because I prefer the look and feel of them.

Also great tip on the fishing charter, that would be a good escape if the boredom crept in

I have been to Beau Rivage 10 or 12 times on these offers and it is hard to pass up. The property is beautiful and the casino is nice. Yes, the video poker has very poor pay schedules but I can overlook that, considering the value of the airfare, room, transportation and free play. I have always been amazed that my low level of play qualifies for these offers but they continue to send these offers and I will continue to take advantage of them.

No, it's not Las Vegas but it is a great getaway, especially for free. There is a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino next door.

Allegiant used to have $29 & $49 flights (one way) from Central Florida to Biloxi.
I've stayed at The Beau several times - comp'd. It's the only place I've stayed at.
I haven't been back since 2010 but if I was to go again I'd stay at The Beau.

 

I have done the charter from Houston. It's run through a charter service so you have to register yourself and companion (if it includes someone and you choose to take someone) at least a week or two ahead of time. You cannot change the people on the registration after this as they send a manifest to TSA so they can quickly move the group from check-in through TSA and boarding ASAP. The trip from Houston was maybe an hour and they try to get you liquored up (yay!) with quick and plentiful beverage service.

When you arrive they move everyone pretty darn quickly out of the plane and to the bus for the casino. You board and they show you an MLife generic video (ours welcomed us to the Beau Rivage OR Gold Strike <Tunica...>) and in about 30 minutes you are at the casino. You unload at the underground groups desk. You get your room keys (already ready upon arrival) and have to put down a credit card for incidentals. They will take your bags to your room so you can start playing immediately. I chose to take my bags up and let my two vodka tonics wear off a bit so I wasn't impulsive.

I had $300 FP with the offer and also took advantage of the Island View's new player promo where they double FP from any casino in the gulf coast (has to be a neighboring state if not MS itself)...they also take your mailer away when they do this, BUT it was good for my $100 in Harrah's NOLA FP doubled up to $200. I had to rent a car ($40ish bucks...and a crap car at that) from the rental place on site but I hit on a penny slot for $400 so I was up for that jaunt.

I agree there is not much else to do there and the casino can get boring. Having a car, I was at least able to go to Island View and IP. Treasure Bay (??? I think that's what is called) also has a $100 slot loss promo but the $100 in FP is not added until 10 am the next day so you have to plan accordingly. I also did that...small casino...some ok VP but nothing special. Beau is a nice place but I don't like the nighttime crowd. I also never win there. But I only play slots and VP. Hard Rock is next door and nice enough for a couple hours play. But at HR and Island View, FP does not work on VP. Treasure Bay, however, you can play your FP on anything.

It's good for two nights. During the summer months it is better for the beach...it is still the gulf so it ain't much.

If you rent a car, you can go across the bridge to Ocean Springs and there is a great BBQ place called The Shed.

I would do it once... ended up losing $1200 at Beau Rivage because even with a car I played out of boredom, so it cut into any winnings I otherwise had. BUT, I had a good time. Again, probably wouldn't do it again.

On the way back, you MUST be at the bus pickup on time bc they leave right on time. Same deal in reverse EXCEPT no free booze, in fact no beverages or snacks on the way back. And tada, you're done.

Hi! Hubby and I go to Biloxi every other weekend LOL! Helps that it is only a hour and a half from our house. The Beau is a beautiful casino and the closest to a "las Vegas" casino. There is a total of 9 casino's in Biloxi. Treasure Bay,The beau,hard Rock, The Grand, Golden Nugget,The Palace, IP, Boomtown(personal fave.Local's Casino) and Margaritaville. In Gulfport about 10 Minutes away is Island View. Texdan17 has mentioned The Shed restaurant,absolutely fantastic BBQ!The restaurant was shown a few years ago On food network on a show called "diners,drive-in's and dives" and it also shoots a reality tv show there now,the lines to get in can be unreal! Biloxi also offers a casino hopper bus and it stops multiple times down Beach Blvd. I believe it is $2. Some of the casinos offer free shuttles as well and pick up multiple times at various casinos

 

We've gotten this offer many times but have never done it. My SO knows someone at works who has done it often and raves about it. For those of you who have gone -- how is the room on the airplane? My SO and I are big gals and I worry about traveling by air these days. I've never had a problem "fitting" on any regular airplane but wonder about the charter.

 

I seem to remember the plane was an MD-87 or MD-83 - standard 17" seat width. The crew is fun, we played a game - there were 4 versions you could participate in -you write your seat number on money & put it in a bag - then they draw - I won the $10 game once - came to just over $200 if I remember right On one trip we had a rather rapid descent, the masks dropped & O2 came on, somewhat scary.

I did this junket offer twice - it was enjoyable. I was not bored there at all - we walked down to the beach & went into town & did a tour which was interesting. It's not Vegas but it is a great diversion.

We just got a room & FP offer from the Beau & I think we are going to do it, It will be nice to have a few days off.

 

I've won that game before. It was w a $5. We also did one w a $20.
