Taking a "spontaneous" solo trip next week and staying at the D. This will be a different kind of trip for me as I want to see how little I can spend and still have fun. I'm looking for cheap food options downtown or food I can get comped with a little video poker play. (Might also play some BJ and roulette if I've had any luck at VP.) Would love to hear your suggestions/experiences. I've only stayed downtown once, and that was three or four years ago.

I'm really looking forward to this trip!

Get a 4 Queens player's card and get the $11.99 Prime Rib Special at Magnolia's. Nothing spectacular, but good, cheap grub at a great price.

I've found a breakfast comp fairly easy to get at the Fremont after a 2 - 3 hour late night session at the craps table.

There have been times where I've played for a decent amount of time after the grave yard shift started, forgot to ask for a comp after too many Bud Lights and was able to get a comp on the way to the coffee shop/buffet with the wife the next morning.

My line is to ask for a comp to take the wife to breakfast in the morning.

Great Gamblino... the last of October I posted a comprehensive list of downtown food specials... all prices... but each a good value for the price... arranged by the hotel for convenience... sometimes you just want to eat where you are playing.

Some of the comments from others on the 4 pages added a lot to the subject... try putting this into the www. spot on your computer...

Thanks for all of the information.

TexasGramma - great list. I don't know how I missed that!

Sco, the deal at the Chicago Brewery sounds worthwhile. Do you have to go to the player's club first??
