My wife and I are not high rollers but we do play everyday while in Vegas. Presently we are staying at Mirage and leaving on Thursday. We were at 0 TC when we got here and we should hit close to 25K to get Pearl status before we leave. My question is should we even bother seeing a host to see what they can do for us in terms of bill reduction/comps or are we too small potatoes to be even considered for anything? The 25K in TC is spread between tables and slots. Thanks for all your input!
you are too small of a player to have a host, but you can definitely (and should) talk to vip services prior to check out to see if you can get some reduction in your bill.
If you still have some express comps, I would stop by the MLife booth and they will use them against your bill. They may also take the resort fees off the bill for you. It is always worth asking at least.
I have always been of the opinion that you should always ask. Doesn't hurt anyone and takes about five minutes out of your day. That being said, the other posters are correct. You can probably get the mlife desk to apply your remaining EC toward your bill.
Small rollers can still get treated well, but here's some tips. Get away from the big casinos. Try and work with the same host all the time. If you come to Vegas 1 or 2 times a yr, not really going to do much. More than 3 and the host gets used to you, it helps
On our first trip we played about the same as you. Moved to pearl. They comped 6 buffets and some drinks (~$200 fb) and resort fees. Definitely worth asking. If you haven't been charging anything to your room I would definitely hit a couple buffets or have a nice dinner before you leave, just about sure they'd be comped for you. I just called down vip before leaving for the airport and they said they'd take of it.
Thanks for the info! Was this with a host or is there another office/counter for VIP? I'm guessing that I probably will not get as much if I went to the Mlife counter?
No... That is not true. The people at the counter are usually very good about removing charges to your room or getting you to a host if that needs to be done. I met my current host at the mirage when he was working at the desk area and I was getting charges removed when I was getting ready to check out.
Just an update on how my checkout went and hopefully that this will help others. We could not find the VIP service area so we went to the Mlife counter before checking out to ask if they can do anything to reduce the charges. Over 4 days we had accumulated close to 30K in TC and made Pearl. They removed all the resort fees and comped one of our meals at BLT Burger (we had 4 meals charged to the room). The girl at the counter said that $150 was the max credit that she can give with our level of play. Was hoping for a little more but cannot complain with total charges coming to a little under $400 for 4 nights and 3 meals. According to the stats on our play, we had about $5K in coin in and rated $35 avg bet on 6 hours of table play. BTW for all smokers, there is a smoking room in Terminal 3 at the end of the E gates! Didn't think smoking rooms still existed in airports.
It's great to hear that they took care of you. That is also good advice for others, you should always check with the players club desk to see if they can do anything. Even a little play usually gets them to throw you a bone, especially if you played a regular rate for the room and made charges to the room as well.
No it was not a comped room. That was actually one of the first questions they asked me when I got to the Mlife desk so I 'm guessing that if it was already a comped room, I might not have gotten the $150 in credits. I actually booked with the VIP phone line and got the room for $55 a night. (Sun - Thurs)
