    My Trip Report

The “Players”...lol Me (mid 50s medical problems and my 85 yr old MIL)....see told you old boring people :rolleyes2:

Got a great price for a rt out of BDL w/EB. We had to hire someone to bring us to the airport...$160 choke choke...Driver got lost twice near the airport, no problem we had plenty of time...she had never driven to BDL before. Quick check of the bags at the skycap, quick through the security line. New for us was a very serious TSA agent rechecking everyones ID before getting on the plane. Loaded early and sat...husband at home said that our flight was held up due to security issues at LAS? So finally take off 20 minutes late and pilot flies the LONG way over Canada...? Anywho...6.5 hours sitting on that plane was more than enough for me. So great rate AND scored 1st class the SW way (empty middle seat). I consider everything a win other than sitting for 6.5 hours...

Landed, got the bags off the belt quickly, no line at the cab stand. Quick trip to MGM no tunnel....everything smooth. Very small line at MGM....booked an Executive Queen through mlife for what I considered a very reasonable price ...only problem...NO smoking rooms. Third trip in a row I have run into this at 3 different properties. Thank god I keep an ecig with me. 6th floor strip view...well would have been strip view if I was higher than the 6th floor lol. Saw the top of NYNY and the top of MC. Room was great, beautiful, comfortable and I would stay again...hoping for a smoking one on a higher floor of course. Only thing I missed was a fridge but it worked out fine.

Spent Tues, Weds at MGM then Thurs and Fri nights were at South Point. Cab to South Point was not as high as I thought it would be...$24 I asked him to take LVB all the way no highway. Gave him $30 since he didn't fight me on the route and I expected it to cost more. South Point checked in at 11:30 am received my 2 bedroom suite my host had set up. Exactly like the 1 bedroom we normally have just 2 bedrooms. First bedroom had 1 king and other bedroom had 2 queens. Identical bathrooms....I Love my South Point suites and I feel very lucky my host there gives them to me. I don't consider myself a High Roller.

Tues supper was MGM buffet...thanks myVegas....then slots for the night.
Weds breakfast MGM buffet ...thanks myVegas....walked to NYNY and MC and back. Noise outside of NYNY was deafening from the jackhammers. Slots....mid afternoon meal was Avenue 24 at MGM food was good and charged to the room. Wound up with it comped at the end, so thanks MGM.
Thurs breakfast MGM buffet...thanks myVegas....see a pattern here? Other than gambling the only thing I have spent money on was a sandwich at the airport and a couple of bottles of soda out of the vending machine. (cabs and tips for everything of course).

Went to the mlife desk at 10 am to find that me and the MIL (using my card of course) have been comped both nights in the Executive Suite, both nights resort fees and the meal at Avenue 24. I was psyched. Score!

We fed the machines quite a bit and actually cashed quite a few tickets. I think the MGM slots were much better than the CET ones have been for years. Played pennies and dollars. I love Willy Wonka but he HATES me. Oh well, can't have it all. Weds night was the most interesting...I was down to my last $20 (budgeted, but well you know I was thinking of getting into my emergency fund) Put it in the $1 WOF next to the elevator entrance....Cashed out $400...cool now I am even for the day! Then cashed out $400 on a $1 Diamond Strike then $300 on a penny Quick Hit....all located in the same area of the casino...between the elevators and the high limit room. Donated quite a bit to the Lions Share but you haven't heard of anyone winning? So no I didn't bring home the jackpot. I did run it up to $175 the first night I was there.

Thurs morning after breakfast I showed my MIL the area I was hitting last night. She was playing a 5 Times $1 machine and hollers over to me....5 times, 5 times, Triple Bar...$1500. She goes to the casino more than me and plays dollars all the time...but this was her first ever W2G. Hell, she's 85 and drives 90 miles to Foxwoods once a week by herself! She was so excited she was calling her friends back home all day LOL, I got quite a kick out of that and was so happy for her. I think that covers the MGM for less than 48 hours we were there...now off to the South Point part.

As mentioned earlier had a 2 bedroom suite 25th floor overlooking the pool (if you could bend your head to look that far down) and the I 15. I get a kick out of the nonstop line of cars coming into Vegas from CA. All day all night a never ending stream of cars. I love to look at the mtns down there...I love a mtn view more than a strip view when in Vegas.

Thurs night supper was Primarily Prime Rib, food was great as always and was part of my offer for Oct. So free...thanks SP. Night of slots still hitting pretty good. Pennies and Dollars. Friday morning we hit the buffet for breakfast, after the coupon we paid $3.75 each...lol. Edible but MGM was better...prices were much different though so kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Day of slots...took a break in the afternoon. Decided to do PPR again for supper since I still had a $40 resort credit to use up. Had the same food, tasted just as good but honestly getting tired of eating. 3 card poker, eventually left my hundy and went back to slots.

Sat I am up early as usual and lay around to kill time, finally went to the living room area at 6 to find my MIL's door open and her bags packed. Note says “I'm downstairs”. Laughed about that for about an hour. Here I am trying not to make noise to wake her up and she's hitting the slots before 6 am! Sat breakfast was Coronado Cafe for omelets and homefries...paid $15 each including drink and tip. Not bad, not great...average tasting. More slots and checkout at 10:45. 2 nights in the suite, resort fee, 2 meals for 2 at PPR all comped. Forgot to mention I had $65 in free play in Oct and $40 in Nov. Our 2 nights covered both months so I got all that too. I have never come home with all my money and this was no exception. Left the house with $1900 for gaming, food, cabs, tips, extras.....came home with $700 so for me it was a great trip. Kahlua and creams were their normal weak....Fri mornings Mimosa at SP gave me a super buzz, damn if I had 2 of those I think it would have knocked me on my ass. Love the flight home it is always so much quicker than the flight out...thank you tail wind! 4.5 hours home.

Sorry for wasting your time...but we eat normal food, don't drink a real lot, just enjoy the weather, love the scenery and play slots. We find it fun. Thanks for reading.

The dh picked us up at the airport so no need to pay for a ride home. Thanks all. I just feel like other trip reports are full of table play, every drink they have and partying...mine doesn't sound as exciting...that's the great thing about Vegas, everyone just does their own thing.

Wow I like how you planned the food out there! Very nice.

LOL@empty middle seat being first class.

Enjoyed the read! "Advanced" people have fun too.

How much would you say you played to get the exec suite covered?

Sco, my budget is $300 day, MIL "budget" is $300 day...plus we cashed a lot of tix and ran some of those wins through... earned 35K mlife tier pts....would have been much less of course if we hadn't been winning.

Glad you had a good time at the grand. I too had some luck on the $1 wheel of fortune by the elevators. The ones that you play 5 credits per spin are great when the spins are coming, but once the spins dry up, so does your money.

Thanks for posting - I agree, NOT boring at all. Sounds like your MIL is someone to strive to be - I plan to still be gambling at 85!!!! Heck, they'll probably have to bury me with a slot machine LOL!
