So i been in casino hotels where they say they will charge $xxx FOR CLEANING FEE. if found smoking in a non smoking room. I guess u can call me a bad person but i dont like sleeping in a smoking room or staying on smoking floor because cig smoke and my body dont mix..
But occasionally i like to smoke my medical in the room. but that doesn't leave a smell for a long time like cigs, and the day i check out i dont smoke in the room to make sure of no smell issues.

    my question is
has anyone been charge that cleaning FEE before?
Using a vaporizer in the room, is that considering smoking ?

Why worry about it? What are the odds that any other non-smokers have issues with sleeping in a smoking room? :rolleyes2:

I'm pretty sure medicinal marijuana is still illegal in Nevada (someone correct me if I am wrong). And you're worried about the smoking fee??? :faint: I guess I would have other things I would worry about first, lol

Yep. Dumb, imprecise post on my part. What I was trying to get at, is does Nevada have a residency requirement for its medical use? I know this is a big difference between the couple dozen (I think) states that permit some form of medicinal use. I know some states require you to be a resident to get the product and you have to use it in the State. Other states allow you to come from elsewhere and use and obtain it.

I clicked on the link and didn't see anything on that subject on the main page. A totally off subject aside, there are actually a handful of people that are permitted by the federal government to use in every State. It dates back to a very brief program form a couple decades ago to treat certain chronic pain conditions and some people are still grandfathered in under the old federal law. This came up for a client I had to represent in TN a few years ago. Let's just say the TN authorities did not appreciate my client lighting up in a public park, lol.

Agreed. Not to start anything, here. Certainly, smokers (of whatever) have the right to smoke, when legal and in designated areas, but it bothers me that some smokers (of several things) truly believe that it doesn't leave a smell. It does. Some are more sensitive to that than others.

Actually, the OP is correct. While pot has a much stronger smell than tobacco while it's actually being burned, the smell doesn't linger in clothes and furniture nearly as much as tobacco smoke, once the actual physical smoke is gone.

My brother got a charge on his credit card after we had checked out the day before while travelling through Maine. They said it was to clean the non smoking room we were in after the next guest complained of cigarette smoke. We do not smoke and never smelled anything while we were there. He put a big stink up about it :)evillaugh) and they reversed the charge.

As a side note my wife and I have done some of our best "somking" in a non smoking room. :ssst:

I've posted this before, but I'll repeat i here...

Many, many times while staying on the Strip, we were mistakenly given a "non-smoking" room ... (my wife smokes.) When asked if they could remedy that ... EVERY time they suggested that they could have Housekeeping deliver a couple of ashtrays to the room ... and they always did.

    Just saying ...

Of course you shouldn't smoke weed in a non-smoking room, but hypothetically if you did you could always use the trick we used sometimes in college. Wrap a dryer sheet to the end of a paper towel tube and blow the smoke through there. It smells just like the dryer sheet. :wink2:

:DGold Coast still has windows that open in the bathroom/shower and upper floors have half-assed screws that prevent the old windows from being opened..A swiss army knife combo can undo those quickly and replaced before check-out. I don't smoke weed but still cigs.
Rio sucks but they do have little vents on the floor for fresh air..

Just noticed the OP's name :wink

last trip to riviera a door across the hall was propped open and someone was sitting in the room smoking.
I called the front desk to let them know and was told that they will have $250 charged to their credit card for cleaning.

If you're in a non-smoking room, don't smoke. You may think others can't smell it, but they can. Find some other place to smoke your medical product. I have nothing against smoking weed, I just have an over-sensitive nose and don't want it in my room.

I have no idea about the fee that may be charged, but if you're worried about getting caught just do like Ludacris suggests and "put a wet towel under the door."

This is the best option for hotel rooms...

Smoke goes in.. no smoke and no smell come out! Pretty amazing!! It's got a strong sponge like charcoal filter inside. 100% recommended.
This is pretty much the modern or perfected version of the dryer sheet in the TP roll.

My brother says he gets charged the cleaning fee everywhere. He's not the type to argue or deny it. He'll just pay it. Although these guys are smoking those "spliffs" (a joint rolled with weed and tobacco) ...pretty gross! :vomit:

I suspect that most properties are just like Mr.Teague in 'Poltergeist'.
They take the fee, but leave the room 'as is' when somebody smokes...perhaps a bit of Febreze and they're done.
