Just wondering... Did they ever resume construction of the blue colored tower across from Circus-Circus? It appeared to be bankrupt and abandoned when I was in Vegas last spring. What was that complex called?

Fontainebleau... Carl Icahn owns the property. The furniture that ended up going into the Plaza Hotel's remodeled rooms came from that project. There has been no on-going construction on the site, just the occasional folks wandering around making sure it's cordoned-off. I sure hope that once the SLS (Old Sahara) reopens and activity starts on the old Stardust site that something might shake loose across the street at The Foutainbleu... anyone's guess.

I am also hoping that someone will take care of that tower. It's done building and i hope someone is going to open it. I really love the north part of the Strip, there is just not much going on. So sad, a few years ago some of the most popular hotels where placed there. Now some people are even afraid of this part of the strip. I am not, even if there are some strange people wandering around at night. I had a nice conversation and some "being drunk" fun with a homeless dude.

Opening some brand new resort would definitely help this area to be reborn.

Will be interesting to see what happens to it. There are more and more missing blue panels on it. I think it was in the LVA that I read the glass panels were falling out, and every trip I take to Vegas, I check to see. Sure enough, there appear to be more gone. Furnishings from there went to several different hotels, including Buffalo Bills, Plaza, Las Vegas Club, and now The Downtown Grand. Probably a few others as well.

One of the advantages of riding on the top seats of the deuce when heading downtown is that you can look over the fence into the construction site. I couldn't help but notice that most of the I-beams down on the lower floors appear to be rusting. It's probably superficial, but it's not a good sight to see anyway.

There is still a lot of construction to be done on the place as it is not built out. Once a building has it exterior clad that is when they do the inside, so I am guessing there is a lot to build behind those blue windows.
On aside note here is the video of a guy sneaking into the place and making his way all the way to the top:

It is a shame to see it in that state still, and with the amount of money needed to finish it off, I can't see anyone taking it on anytime soon.
The video was very good, I also enjoyed the other two videos on the site that had him going through the storm drains and meeting some of the homeless that live there.

Icahn will flip it for a big profit once SLS opens and Resorts World is well under construction.
