Are your offers from CET decreasing this year?

For background, we both have been Diamond players for a few years. Last year under the old system his score was high 20s, mine low 20s.

In the new system we both easily renewed Diamond in our first Vegas trip of four or five days. After three trips we were 80000+ and 50000+ by June.

We don't live near a CET casino so all our play is in Vegas.

The question, why are our offers from CET so bad? Generally I gets offers of $50 and he has $100, sometimes it's even lower. It used to be $300 for him and $100 for me. I didn't even think these were great.

I'm not concerned about the free nights because those are always available to most everyone. We are never offered suites.

I've wondered if being Canadian and/or VP players makes a difference for offers.

You are accumulating credits faster than I yet I recently (this week) acquired 5 days free and $300 Free Play from CET.

I still get $25 and 3 day free offers too.

There is a good chance the offers vary based on the dates and you have $300-$500 Free Play in the mail for a later date.

I am Diamond also, but lower level- I think I am at about 35,000. I play 95% slots and do get $300FP offers (& comp rooms which used to always include all LV properties any day, but 2013 properties will vary by offer). IMO I think it is the fact that you are VP players. I can't comment on the American vs Canadian making a difference. I also think CET marketing offers are a mess and it will do no good to try to make sense of them. E.g. My dad and I are the "big" gamblers in the family. My dad does not get any offers from Vegas (he is Diamond also) and my brother (who does not really gamble except maybe $50-$100 total per year on our annual fam trip to Vegas) recently received the same email offer that I got for comp room & $400 credit at Guy Savoy

Once again, offers are based on ADT, not tier level or number of tier credits. As a VP player you can build a large number of TCs without giving up much in the way of theoretical or actual losses.

As an aside, I would be surprised if CET did not modify the bonus earning system for 2014 to make it harder for VP players to earn so many TCs.

Just curious, since you are both mid/high diamond and both VP (i.e. non-table) players, did you ever consider playing on one card and shooting for seven stars?

I agree Julie888, my offers from CET are definitely lower this year. Like you, my freeplay used to be $300 and now are $100. Last year I was always offered at least Augustus Tower at Caesars, and now it's Palace or Forum.

I know offers are based on ADT, but my play has not changed in the past 3 years. I'm also Diamond (32000 pts), play about 60% VP and 40% slots, and also from Canada...

Ditto here. I did get my host to upgrade me to Augustus Deluxe on one offer I had (that did not even offer me Caesar's!)

I live in Canada too but am a low-roller but whenever I log in with my TR number, my offers are priced higher than when I do not log in!! Would have thought that by being a TR member, I would at least get lower prices than non TR members.

VP is a low house edge, so your ADT is not going to be as high as a slot player playing same coin in. I am Diamond III and get stellar offers. Just tossed a $1000 FP or Visa (Simon Mall Visa) card for the end of December.

It may not be so much that they "changed their offers" but that they adjusted the ADT compilation formula to not favor the VP player in the new TR system that offers the bonus tier credits.

It's always about ADT for the casino, the various casino tiers are the smoke screen for us.

Again, offers are on THEO or ADT. Not on tier.

If you read many posts here you will see that repeated over and over.

At CET, also have to be careful to NOT have a low play day, like you last day there with $50 played.

    Engicedave,are you Canadian?

Nostress, we are cautious not to have any low play days. Since we both hit Diamond in four (maybe five) days, I feel our play was pretty solid.

It feels frustrating when you read of former Diamond players saying it is hard to reach that level under the new system.

Doesn't matter. We won't rush back to chase higher levels. There doesn't seem any advantage in aiming for Seven Star. If either one of us wanted to travel on our own, we are better having our own offers.

Might consider the one card for Boyd. He is close to Emerald.

    Ancestry, yes
    Citizenship and residency, no.

But I find it hard to believe being Canadian would be a negative factor, especially considering Caesars Windsor in Canada.

Fact is, VP is a low house edge game, so you can bet that it is calculated at a different level than any other coin-in gaming.

I think CET is wising up on their property demand and offers. Unless you are very high ADT or have a good host relationship they are pulling back.

I saw offers start dropping last year in Vegas, while other market offers increased. This year I am diamond with 29000. After CET gave me crap offers for spring, summer, and fall 2013 mailings I threw all my play towards secondary markets - AC and NOLA

Surprise my winter LV offers picked up again. So I think it's cyclical when CET has higher demand they can afford to trim back the gambling offers.

Either way I feel like I maximized my comp value, cut back my play for 2nd half of yr, and managed to be up on gaming return.

It feels like a zero sum game for the gambler any more on the strip. I can say I will be low playing CET and giving a higher percentage of my gaming budget to other joints the remainder of the year and 2014. The D, Golden Nugget, Palms, Hard Rock, Cosmo, and TI have offered free rooms and higher levels of monthly comps consistently in 2013.

Let the big guys on the strip have the club goers they want so desperately, I have moved on.

The reason I asked if being Canadian would affect our offers is that I've read that the casinos don't even do offers to international customers. Whales would be different.

Since our offers are low there is no enticement that makes us want to rush back. A quasi host has called me a couple of times wanting to help me set up a trip. Truthfully it just isn't feasible right now. I'd just like to feel flattered by decent offers. It feels like an insult getting $30 to $50 of FP.

I think being from our of the country would affect getting those short notice offers. But if you play enough to get room plus free play offers, being Canadian wouldn't affect the amount of free play. It would be primarily ADT with a cynical calculation of what they can get away with offering and still get you to come. CET will take folks with regular play and visit patterns for granted from time to time.

I haven't paid for a room at CET for years.
I agree with "nostresshere", my play is what they expect me to play and i come through. I am Gold, have no Host, and my bankroll has stayed the same for years. CET expects me to wager about $300-$400 per day for 5 nights in the slot machines. My gambling money is never used on the day i leave, which is about 3 pm.
I never use offers, just the rate calender. When i booked Flamingo a couple of days ago for May 2014, i made sure i got the best room available which was Fab Deluxe Strip view (i can use the sandwich to upgrade to a GO if i want to). Planet Hollywood doesn't comp Gold players very often, especially for 5 straight nights, so i grabbed it for 5 nights in August. My bookings always say "O", so it's held but no charge.
I also get plenty of offers from MiLife because i am on their e-mail list. But i never get an offer i can't refuse because i never get free rooms for the week, maybe 2 or 3 nights comped at Luxor or Excalibur, but never 5 nights, and i understand where their coming from.
CET and i are BFF........they count on me and i count on them.

I am also Canadian, and also have not paid for a room at a CET property in years.

I'm platinum currently, and usually only go to Vegas once a year, for 5-7 days and have about a 4-5k bankroll that I cycle through 90% Slots + some BJ at the $15/per hand level.

I'm constantly getting offers from them, as recent as this morning:
3 nights for any CET property (including caesars), and $150 dining credit.

Similar offers that I have in my inbox right now: 5 free nights and $50 reel rewards.

These are not GREAT offers, but with my minimal play, I'm happy with them!

That being said, I have NEVER booked using an offer, I just use the rate calendar and take my 5-7 night COMPED GO-Luxury with strip/fountain view room. For every offer I have ever received they are not available with the upper level rooms. I guess I should take advantage of the offer and then do the $20 trick to upgrade to the GO LUX with view!

I am also Canadian with just over 31,600 tier credits and still get great offers although I do think they send me the best offers for periods either just before or just after a scheduled trip. Most of my free play offers are between $300 and $550.

I've determined that CET is just screwy. I just checked the rate calendar for various times in 2014 and I can get Augustus or Octavious rooms comped at Caesars, but I can't get rooms comped at Paris at all. Literally, every hotel is available to me except Paris. It makes no sense.

My offers have still been pretty good (most recent booked was $350 FP and $350 resort credit), but they vary as well.

I'm a diamond player at 39,000 points right now.
