I was there Oct 10-14. All 5 days it smelled like someone had just got done hotboxing in the elevator. All 4 of them. I was shocked that they did nothing about it the whole time.

The Encore's lost a bit of its luster. It's smokier, casino has gotten tighter (no more S17 blackjack on the floor, VP tables, slots, drink service is worse...), staff is still excellent for the most part, though.

So you are saying when I'm there this weekend I should go to the self-park elevators to "relax" after a dealer pulls yet another 6-card 21 to beat my 2 face cards? :poke:

Seriously though, did you bring it up to anyone and they just did nothing about it?

Actually, that is the last place I'd want to smoke weed....but then I've never been enamored with pot. It quiets me down and makes me want to get really into a movie or something....certainly doesn't create the mood that makes me want to go party and get loud at a craps table.

But to each their own....I imagine it has different effects on different people.

Plus, I can't imagine how many bad holds I'd make playing VP....or maybe I wouldn't make bad holds as much as I'd take 15 minutes deciding:poke::evillaugh

I think the best option in Vegas is to keep the smoke private in your room.
Not very smart to be getting high in an elevator or public areas. Although it is becoming much easier to smoke pot in public with all the vapor and pen stuff that's out there.

There are two kinds of weed Indica and Sativa..... Generally speaking smoking Indica will make you very relaxed and as they say "Couch Locked"
Smoking Sativa will make you want to get up and do something.

    From: http://www.marijuana-seeds.net/Choosing-Your-Marijuana-Sativa-or-Indica-.html

The sativa high is often characterized as uplifting and energetic. The effects of a sativa marijuana are mostly cerebral. They give a feeling of optimism and well - being, as well as providing a good measure of pain relief for certain symptoms. A few pure sativas are also very high in THC content. They are known to have a quite spacey, or hallucinogenic, effect. Sativas are a good choice for daytime smoking.

    The indica highs
are most often described as a pleasant body buzz. Indicas are great for relaxation, stress relief, and for an overall sense of calm and serenity. Marijuana indicas are also very effective for overall body pain relief, and often used in the treatment of insomnia. They are the late - evening choice of many smokers as an all - night sleep aid. A few pure indica strains are very potent in THC, and will cause the "couchlock" effect, enabling the smoker to simply sit still and enjoy the experience of the smoke.

Yeah but only in private I'd assume.

Would a resort really consent someone (a resident of NV) to smoke medical marijuana on their property? Probably not.

I think there once was a time not so long ago when any kind of pot possession in the state of NV was a felony.

Man, weed was a lot easier to figure out back in the day. Although I could use some Sativa to help me get some projects done!

Back in the day all the weed that was available was sativa mainly from Mexico and South America. It was around 1983 when the "Afgani" bud trend started which most people refer to today as kush. In the 1980's Indica weed was known to many as being exotic and only a few people had access to it through limited sources.

Anybody know where I can buy a lid? :wink2:

I smell weed just about every time I'm in Vegas. I also see cocaine and booze and usually someone's genitals. I think it's all part of the "sin" in Sin City. Right?

Why is this even an issue? Was it you? No? So what's the concern? I'm one to let others do whatever as long as they don't tread on me. Live and let live. It's the american way.

PS: Was probably me and my wife anyway responsible for that elevator? [IMG][IMG]

I don’t think the OP was calling out the weed-smokers. I think it was more a comment on the weed smell cheapening Encore somewhat.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me that a guest of a hotel could voice his/her complaints/comments on a board such as this.
