    Hey guys,

So I went to vegas twice so far this year and played mostly at Venetian/Palazzo.

I never paid for any rooms here because my buddy always had comps so I stayed with him.

Anyways, All I play are table games. No Slots, just Blackjack and Craps.

I noticed on the Grazie website that I have to accrue 20,000 points in a calender year in order to get Gold. But exactly how much is that at table games?

This past weekend, I averaged around $250 bet during the 2 days and an hour before I left, I averaged around $500-$2000 average bet at BJ.

Im hoping I start getting comped at this place as usually Cosmo has treated me well.

Im crossing my fingers for a Blackjack tournament invite from Venetian.

Another question you should be asking:

"If I get gold at V/P - what will that get me?"

    Answer - diddly squat

Club Grazie does have a log in page where you can go and see how many points you have: http://www.venetian.com/Grazie-Loyalty-Program/

You should log in and see how many points you have and from that you can extrapolate how much more gambling you need to do (IE: if you want 20,000 points and you only have 10,000 then you need to play an equivalent to what you have already played on your two trips thus far... if you have 15,000 points and want 20,000 then you only need to gamble a third of what you have thus far to reach your goal)

But of note: if your friend is a gold card member and getting free room offers it doesn't mean you will be getting the same if you attain gold. You might make gold and not get the same offers, you might even get them before reaching gold - IE: my Grazie card is the basic one (pink/purple in color) and I get the occasional free room offer from them.

They give you 10 points per $1 theo at your level. Its right on their site: http://www.venetian.com/Las-Vegas-Casino/Grazie-Loyalty/Points-Accruals/

So you'd need $2000 in theo. At $250 BJ it shouldn't take too long, assuming they use similar rates as MGM props it would take ~15 hours give or take.

I got to Gold status a few years ago off of some work trips where they paid for the rooms, and my usual degenerate gambling. I have some friends that have the normal Purple card, and I compare my offers with theirs, and I can say Gold will get you more offers over the year. And when our offers do match up, I usually have added free play (anywhere from $50-$150 range, even a $175-$200 once in a blue moon). I also get invited to a couple of Gold and above slot tourneys as well. It's not that big of a difference, but it's enough to keep me coming back. And once you get to Gold, I've never had a problem maintaining the status with my usual play.

I'm a slot player, but I gambled VERY little (like almost a ridiculous amount) right after I signed up in August and they've sent me 3 comp offers since (specific dates, but still 3 comp nights)... who knows if that will continue after I complete a trip there, but still. The rooms there are some of the highest around I was surprised.

Maybe it's just me, but the actual tiers don't seem to make that much of a difference anywhere. They just care about your habits, that's what they are looking at.

    Table Games = No Points

You don't accrue points attributable to your Grazie account when you play table games. You only accrue points when you play slots or video poker at the rates given on the Grazie Website. You should get pretty decent offers (comp room, free table matchplay, and food comp) at your level of play, but you won't get Gold Status as advertised on their website. If you're playing at the level you're talking about, you'll have a Casino Relationship Manager or host contact you. If not, either you have no history with them, you didn't play long enough, or the pit boss didn't rate you properly. I'm rated a little below your level, and I was contact by a Casino Relationship Manager with offers. If you don't hear from anyone, I would call them, give them your players account number, and ask to talk to a host. If you don't qualify, you won't get past the frontline Grazie employee.

    Hey guys,

I got some information from a casino relationship manager.

"I see we have you rated for your last visit at 11 hours with an average of $260. We would need to see at least 2 – 3 consecutive trips averaging over $200 per bet with a minimum of 4 - 5 hours per day the I can upgrade you to the GOLD status."

Thanks all for the input so far.

That's crazy. I am a slot player at Venetian and knew Johnny's answer looked right based on what I have been told. But, that said, I played penny slots at $1.50-$3/push earlier this year on my first gambling stay an V/P. In just 2 days, I reached Gold. Lost $300. I would risk way more playing $200-$300 BJ. Crazy and not worth it.

OK, first off, you should have no trouble getting a comped room playing at that level. You should already have offers in your account, or a casino relationship manager should be able to offer you at least three comped nights.

According to the email you got, one more trip like the last one, and they should give you a gold card.

The Gold status by itself, however, is mainly good for a few hotel perks, and the following:

Accelerated earning of slot credits/free play (but you said you don't play slots).

Accelerated earnings of hotel Status Points (when you're Gold, you get 20 Status points for every $1 of hotel spend, vs. 5 points when you're purple. You also earn more Status Points for slot play). The main effect of that, especially if you're a slot player, is that once you're Gold, it's pretty easy to stay Gold if you make a couple of trips a year. But since you should be getting your room for free, you may not have much hotel spend. So maintaining Gold is going to be due to your play.

So I think the upshot for you is:
    • You should already be getting comped rooms, and should have no trouble continuing to get them.
    • If you make two trips a year and play at that same level, they should make you Gold and it should be fairly easy to maintain that level with two trips a year.
    • But since you don't play a lot of slots, being Gold is mostly just a different color card with a few hotel perks.

    I see.

    Thanks for the clarification.

I think the moral to the story is throw some bills at playing some slots. Maybe Ill play some high limit slots with 1k. That should get their attention at upgrading me to Gold.

Yeah, as mentioned above, they don't give points to table players. A host or casino marketing should get you some of the perks like VIP check in without the gold card. The VIP lounge at least at the Palazzo doesn't have much except a few drinks and a couple of pieces of fruit. They don't have coffee to go which was the most disappointing thing. Grumble grumble. I'm a bit below you but may play longer and haven't received a gold card. There are a few perks that would be nice. The cafe line can get long and also the Grazie desk plus other stuff.

Odd they haven't sent any offers or anything. My first return trip to the VP was last spring and I got offers fairly quickly but a casino marketing person didn't contact me for 2 or 3 months. Worse comes to worse, just go to casino marketing and have them comp your bill. That's what I did last spring on my first trip.
