Can you gamble high limit without getting rated?

will casinos let you gamble at 100 dollar and higher tables without giving your player club card?

i dont want to do it myself,i like getting comps but one of my buddies never uses a player club card because hes against being in databases and likes to stay anonomys. he only plays 5 or 10 dollar tables so no one cares. but i told him if he wanted to play 100 dollar tables they would make him get a card,he didnt agree with me and i dont know if i was right.

do any high limit gamblers here play without giving there player card?

 

I don't believe they would ever force you to have a card as long as you show up to the table with a fist full of cash.

Players cards are optional; no matter what the betting level is.

 

In the nicer casinos you see that all the time. There is a LOT of people betting blacks without getting any ratings. As mentioned its always optional to get a players card.

 

While I'd be surprised if a casino made him get a card, that doesn't necessarily mean he could stay anonymous; if you're playing at that level, it's definitely possible to wind up with enough cash over the course of a day that a CTR needs to be filed, and/or other casino policies come into play.

 

There's no need to identify yourself unless it's an IRS situation. I've even gotten a comp and where is said, "Players name," the pit boss wrote, "Player refused to identify himself."

 

The blackjack tables at CET casinos in AC have a sign posted that any player not wishing to be rated can be limited to 1 hand with a $1000 max. But I haven't seen any sign like that anywhere else.

I've also been at tables in Vegas and AC with people who play black chips and don't get rated. Can't say the same for higher chips.

But its not just IRS situations where he'll have to show ID. He will have to show ID (or already be in the system) for cash transactions of $10k+ over 24 hours, that doesn't mean he'd be rated but it would nix his goal of staying anonymous. The casino is supposed to keep track of him if it even looks like he may buy in for $10k+ over 24 hours. So according to FinCEN its typically at around $3k where they will start keeping track of that. But they don't necessarily need your ID at that point, they just need to keep track of what you're doing in case they need to file a CTR (or an SAR if there's any suspicions) later on.

Walk around the HL and you will see MANY players with no cards in machine.

Nobody is going to force you to use a card.

But - if you friend is going to play much, he can use MY card. I can always use some points.

i was talking about table games but thats true in a machine you never get asked for your card,but if your playing high limit slots then you need to show your id for any jackpot over 1200 for taxes.

 

At MGM properties you don't have to get/show a players card, but you'll get a lot of pressure to get one.
And you'll be watched like a !@#$ hawk. You can almost feel the eyes in the sky identifying you once they have an interest.

 

some people wont be rated at black level becuase it will bring down there adt.

but if he goes from 1 black to 10 black all off a sudden he will definatly get noticed

 

You can play high limit without giving your card. The casino staff is definitely going to ask for it but you don't have to give it to them. Casino staff may try to have you sign up especially if you don't look your age though.

 

also they will check your ID or players card if you are cashing out more than
5k.

so if your winning big at high limit they will verify your identity before giving you the money.

In many instances as to why they would want to see your player's card is to ensure that you are 21 and over to play. Especially at the MGM Grand. I know because I don't look my age. The first time I hit a bac table in Vegas at the MGM Grand the dealer thought I was 16/17! LOL. Then after looking at my ID and then signing up for a card she apologized.

Unless you look your age then what firstkills stresses applies. At the Wynncore they either ask for my player's card or ID even cashing out over $1,500. They do this also to know if you are playing with markers.

 

Mgm props definitely wants to know who is playing in high limit. Just last night at Goldstrike in Tunica, I was just there to pay a marker and decided to try just a thousand cash at the BJ table at 100/hand. Dealer knew me and pit knew me, but couldn't remember my name exactly. I said I didn't want to check in, but the pit kept trying to guess my name. I wanted to play lower than normal and for a short time. Well, this morning I noticed I earned a whopping 3.95 in EC, so the pit found me in the system and logged me in anyway. I am a little ticked. Last time I tried, I encountered a similar experience. Was busted from another property and only had 500 left, so sat down to play $50 hand. After an hour was up $4500 and the shift manager stopped by to introduce Himself and asked my name and was basically putting a little heat on me. I eventually gave them my card since I was now betting 4-500 hand. They want to know who you are, plain and simple. Plus they want to track all of your play.

 

This reminded me:
Back-in-the-day, the Stardust cage would always ask "any markers?" if you cashed in $1000+ in chips.

It warms my heart that I was actually asked this a few times.

 

thanks this is what i thought too. because when i see people buying for a lot or betting big they come ask right away for there card. sometimes they dont need your card when you play lower too if they know you. at the Horseshoe in tunica some of the pit bosses remember my name and when i try giving them my card they say they already have me in. but i didnt know they will still rate you if you say you dont want to be rated.
