I wish them ALL the BEST... one of my favorite people-watching places is watching the crowd leave early AM!!! Looks like they have some FUN in that joint!!!

All due respect, how will it change the game? I see it as another pool dayclub and a remodel of a 15-year club.

I think the dayclub will be pretty expensive because I wonder how many people will change hotels to go to a pool. They have a small number of rooms. I could be wrong about this.

Good luck to them, I want everyone to be successful.

In my opinion it is the first property on the strip in which partying rather than gaming is the focus and will be the primary source of revenue. If it is a go and profitable others may follow. Right now Cosmo is the only other resort which is even close to offering what this new place have.

    just my 2 cents though......

I hope it has the after-hours has the vibe of the old Drais. I used to love that place years ago. It was the closest thing to a true "underground" sweatbox type club I've ever seen in Vegas and the crowd was always cooler than the ones at the normal clubs earlier in the night.

As far as the game changer part I can see that in a sense. Gansevoorts carry the all-day party/lounge vibe anyway and the club catering to that will just add to it. But then again, just about every place in Vegas has an all-day party vibe already so this may just feel like a different flavor.

The thing is that's Drai's is know as one of best around for after hour's. Yes it is a unique venue, but you have 8 awesome pools already and have to compete with pools and nightclubs. It will do well, but as far as a gamechanger, that's going to be difficult. If I had investors I would have a club with 4 genres of music, so you cater to edm to the older crowds.

How many people can the pool party hold, how many can Drai's hold, and how many rooms does the hotel hold? I don't think the hotel is big enough to support the club(s).

    But I hope I'm wrong.

i think 160 rooms but it will be more likev a party with a few hotels.

check out the w in los angeles or the gavensport in nyc .hotels that are really clubs.

even the standard in nyc has 2 nite clubs packed all the time and funny thing is its not open to hotel guests .you have to know somebody to get in

Once Drais opens, the hotel part is a very small portion of what Bills income would be.
Ya not a gamechanger for sure, but it'll probably be one of the top ones and could possibly bump out an older and getting to be forgotten venue.

As far as the comment of people not wanting to change hotels to go to a pool. You must not know what the pool parties are about. People that go to pool parties are most likely not staying at that particular hotel.

this club looks like one of the few of the recent new clubs that actually had anyone with knowledge of how to set up a club designing it

as for the idea about the club struggling because the hotel is so small I think that is not an issue

As I stated in another thread there are two "crash pad" hotels right next door with the Quad and Flamingo and that is to the benefit of the gadanndersvorterzen hotel. They can fill that small hotel with people that people that will actually pay to be subjected to that type of atmosphere yet they do not have to try and rent large amounts of rooms to others that want a room to actually sleep in or rest in. They also will not have to subject large blocks of "fancy" rooms to groups crash padding in them 8 to a room and wearing and tearing the room at a much faster rate. Those groups can simply crawl next door to hotels that are already on the decline and wear them further into the ground. Also when you want to "excuse" some guest from the club (to thin the herd and allow in fresh paying guest and re-rent the table) or even excuse them from the entire property it is much easier to do so when they are not actually guest of that property.

Staying in the hotel is not a requirement to enter the club if it was Tao and XS and the like would have been empty from day one because the vast majority of their patrons are not paying the prices to stay on property.

The gagootsenvortortzens is for those that will either be so geeked up they will not sleep for 3 days or those that will be so out of it a Marine Drill Sargent with a metal trash can and a cattle prod could not wake them up for 5-6 hours. The rooms are just so you don't have to do your lines off the toilet seat and have sex on the lavatory counter right in the club.

I'll admit I don't know the logistics of the patrons, but what the pool parties are about, I think it's about alcohol and being around sexy people to maybe hook up with later.

But you're right about me not knowing where the customers are coming from.

Think of it as a nightclub with a few bedrooms rather than a hotel with a nightclub attached.

The majority of the demographic this is aimed at either won't sleep or will get somewhere nearby and not worry about a $20 cab ride to get there.

Seems a logical thing for them to do. I'm not sure how you could monetize a 160 room hotel and gambling hall on the strip in 2014.

Is it? LOL. Honestly to me its about having a good time with friends and new people you meet. I have no goals or expectations to hook up everytime I'm at a pool party. I know most of the girls we go with arent really hookin up with guys.. (and ya theyre F'in hot. LOL). Maybe because we're regulars at Vegas and these events so its not such a primary goal. haha,

Personally I go for the music, the specific DJ I want to see and the party.
    Everything else is a bonus.

I liked Drais just because the thought of being able to go somewhere to continue the party. But in many occasions, I actually thought the crowd was weirder lol. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just a different viewpoint.
At least its not how some of the Hollywood afterhours are that start at 4-5am til 8am. Those are when the weird shit comes out. Transvestites come out and random things you see that you wont see any other hours of the day. haha.

I agree, the group I go with we dont harsh the vibe with the whole "hook up" thing. We are happy to mingle, talk and keep the good times rolling. Its always funny those most critical of the party scenes have no idea what its really about.

Very true. So many misconceptions of clubs, pool parties and the people that go to them.
Just because a guy is wearing a dress shirt with no undershirt with the top buttons unbuttoned and he's walking with confidence through the casino floor to the club, doesnt mean he's a ******bag college kid club goer. LMAO. He's probably just some kid from the midwest who's never been to Vegas and just having the time of his life. Or he could be some young military guy enjoying himself from a break after being away on tour for months.

Or those girls in short skirts with high heels and legs for days. Underneath all that makeup and sexy clothes is probably one of the daughters of a member here who is always in jeans and sweatshirts that hardly wears makeup back at home.

Theyre just average regular people. Not every girl is a slut or a guy is from the Jersey shore. LMAO. Funny to hear those stereotypes all the time as they are far from the truth of the actual people who are in the clubs.

Drai's in LA is one of the best venues in LA.it does put an interesting spin on things in Vegas. Drais became.popular with a lot of nightclub people and shift workers. How many places can.you dance.and drink till noon.

Drais at Bills was Awesome. I have partied there from 4am to Sun up
a dozen times. So of my craziest stories have all originated at that
joint. However, this is now going to turn out like Dria's at the W Hollywood
in CA. Its a rooftop pool, exact same concept. I don't like it.

I liked the old Drai's. You never knewwhat was gonna happen there
    or who you would meet.

How you ever been to Drai's in LA? I would not consider it even close to
"best venue" in that area. Ive stayed at that W a few times.
Two years ago the GM of that W actually gave me the Extreme WOW suite
for my birthday. I had a ton of people and we hit up Drai's for a bit both
Sat night and Sunday pool party. Wasnt into it.
