What's going on the week of November 4th? Rates are so high Mirage and CET properties that week. I booked following week for $200 less and got one extra night. Was looking to play a specific poker tournament that week.

We are going that same week as well and having similar problems with room rates. Appears this is the week of the SEMA convention. Rooms will continue to be hard to come by.

Yes it's the SEMA Show/AAPEX convention. We are there. On the other hand, I got an email yesterday from Hooters that with the code sema13, they have $29 a night rooms.

SEMA convention + Veterans Day weekend = high rates. I'm actually there from Wednesday 6th but staying off strip first few nights because it's just too damn expensive!

Actually the weekend is priced the same as midweek. Hopefully going the week after won't slow down the tourney and side games.

Have comp'ed stay Nov 1-8 and had no issues booking the comp. Vegas has a way of absorbing large conventions and shows. Sorry your having trouble finding good rates. I have seen various casinos still offering low rates so keep searching. Good luck .

Certain properties are connected with the company that books deals for convention attendees. There are about 100,000 people that come into SEMA that week.

But like someone said, there are plenty of other rooms out there. Vegas can absorb this type of crowd easily, especially most of the show is during the weekday and not the weekend.
