So this past June rumors were flying around that Circo at Bellagio is going to close May 2014 so that Hyde can expand. i have not heard anything since the original rumors surfaced, has anyone else heard anything? Circo is one of my fav restaurants and visit every time I'm in Vegas.

would be a surprise. Why wouldn't they close when Hyde was being built in the first place so they could have done the Hyde build out all at once?

If they were busy, I couldn't see it happening, but maybe business has slowed where it would make more sense.

Anyone eaten there recently to give some input as to how crowded it was when you were there?

there was just a thread about this not long ago and it's definitely closing. I was just at Le Cirque a couple of weeks ago and talked to them about it. it's 100%. the only thing up in the air is will Le Cirque close along with it. rumor has it they are going to renew Le Cirque for another 5 years, but that's not in stone yet so anything could happen. but in all likelihood Le Cirque will remain.

Circo is closing by the end of March 2014. The Hyde expansion was a rumor. There is going to be a new Tapas concept restaurant, by another famous Vegas chef....not permitted to divulge at this time.

I had heard a rumor that, even if Le Cirque remains, it may be a changed place as the staff and concept change. It may no longer be the beacon of Vegas fine dining that it is today.

Yes, last I was in Le Cirque they said the Maccionis had signed on for 5 more years at Le Cirque but that Julian Serrano would be opening a more casual place into the Circo space which is open to the casino. Clearly things are a little bit fluid and it is hard to separate heresay from fact at this point.

That is exactly what's going on. Also Circo "may" re-open at another location.

I'm torn. I enjoyed Circo the two times I went this year. But I really like tapas. Can they just replace Fix instead :Þ

that's the rumor, but unlikely. it most likely will remain unchanged.

I agree, Fix is pretty bad.

the Julian Serrano tapas restaurant at Aria is one of our favorite places for lunch.

as an FYI, when we went to Jean Georges at Aria a couple weeks ago, we walked by the Sirio restaurant at Aria, and it was beyond dead. That is the location they should close. There were only literally 2 tables occupied in the whole restaurant, prime time on a Friday night.

I'm not surprised that it is closing. We are there for my wife's birthday in March and it could be the worst dining experience I have had in Vegas. There were four in our party and each of us had something wrong or forgotten. The food was average at best. All this while there were maybe 10 tables seated at 6:30.

When I was there in August, JS had scaled back the lunch menu somewhat. Hope they bring back the full menu for both lunch and dinner, because the food is excellent.

Ate at Sirio for dinner on a Saturday about a year ago and the place was not busy at all. Half the patrons in the restaurant were wearing t-shirts and flip flops. Doesn't bother me, but its not a good sign for a restaurant that wants to be upscale

Did not know that JS had scaled back the lunch menu, as we had not been there since earlier in the year. When we were there for lunch, it was always the same as the dinner (full) menu, that is why we like it so much as you can try a variety of tapas and share, and get to taste a lot of different items!!

That's odd. Maybe they switched it back. I was last there six weeks ago and made a couple comments to the staff about wishing they had the full menu at lunch. maybe I wasn't the only one who complained. Either way, its very good food

Sorry to hear it's closing. I'm not big on tapas, but such an offering makes sense in a place like Vegas where one grabs some food midday or before an early show and keeps going.

I thought Circo and Le Cirque shared a kitchen. Am I wrong? If not, what will they do about food prep and storage space?

I didn't pay close attention, but I think you can see into Circo's kitchen there in the middle of the restaurant. It looked pretty small.

I absolutely hate Fix, which surprises me because of how much I like Stack. Same management, similar menu, and yet I always leave Fix swearing I'll never go back (until, of course, the next time when I do go back).
