Hello! I was hoping to get some insight from people who have been to Vegas in late October / earth November. Is it warm enough to sit outside at the pool during the middle part of the day? It's my wife's favorite activity in vegas and we are looking to book a quick weekend trip but I'm afraid it's just going to be too cool for her there. Normally I'd think 80's at a minimum would be neceassry to enjoy an outdoor pool but where I live it's often overcast and a little windy, maybe mid 70's in vegas with no wind or clouds is hot enough.

Let me know what your experience is!

    Thank you a lot!

It was 73 yesterday but 87 the day before. It is hard to tell but end of October is usually the time it goes from 80s to 70s or lower.

I would watch this weather/forecast page as your trip gets closer...

After about October 15 it is touch and go, could be 80 and sunny, could be 60s, windy, and chilly. Some people sit around the pool in January when it is clearly too cold for traditional pool activities, but can be pleasant if you are fully clothed and sitting in the sun (or running to a hot tub.)

that's too late for me. mid-Sept is the last of the pool weather as far as I'm concerned. sure there's maybe a 1/20 chance you hit a heat wave that time of year and it's 90, but even most good weather that time of year is 80 and I'm not interested in sitting by the pool when it's 80 in the desert. pools in Vegas are the best when it's 90-110.

Even in December you can find me in the hot tub or lounging near the pool. The sun is still out. That's what matters.

Last year on Halloween weekend I used the pool at the Plaza. It was not all that warm out, probably low 70's. Pool felt good, nice and warm, but it was hard getting out. My biggest problem that time of year is lack of sun/too much shade from the buildings.

I agree with sco5123. I'm going early Nov., and even though the pool may not be open, it's nice to lounge around on a nice day for an hour after spending time in the casinos and/or walking the Strip. I did this last Nov and for many years. before then. It's better than spending time in the room watching TV. I like the fact that i can spend morning/early afternoon doing my thing on the Blvd, then when i come back to my home base i can relax for an hour or two outside by the pool/gardens etc.......then change into my evening gown for the nights activities.

+1... Hot is good in Vegas for pools. Even low 80's can seem cool in the desert. The hot tub might be ok but not lounging in a chair unless you're fully clothed.

It was warmer on the strip last Halloween than DT I guess, I packed for 70s weather not expecting much pool time but spent two afternoons at the pool late 70s to mid 80s. Could be the Canadian in me relating it to August at home.

Yeah, it's all relative. Coming from LA it seems cold in LV in winter, but there are tons of people from the Northeast/Minnesota/Canada who clearly find it warm :)

Depends on what you are used to. You can see upper 80's at the end of October, which is fine by me. It's not going to feel like you must go swimming because it is too hot, but you definitely can swim.

The original question is if it is warm enough to sit by the pool. During Halloween week I find the answer to typically be yes.

In 2009 I went on Nov. 1. I was surprised to learn from my Wunderground research that the average high for Nov. 1 was just 73F. And it has never hit 90F in Vegas in November. It looks like 87F is as high as it has been in November, according to Wunderground.

I spent the first week of November in Vegas and it was quite warm in the sun, warm enough that I went swimming in the shallow pool at my timeshare property. I remember watching local news. It was in the low 80s and they were talking about how it was close to record-setting temperatures for a few days. It surprised me that 10 degrees above average was a heat wave in Vegas.

Last year I was in Vegas before Halloween, and in the afternoon that 75F sun was warm enough for me during midday. I was at The Orleans, and as long as I had a spot in the sun, I was warm. The pool was shaded and not particularly enjoyable, but it wasn't so cold that you couldn't go in, it just wasn't much fun to be in.

Coming from God's country, where the average high temperature on Halloween is 48F and the record high for Halloween is 70F, 75F in the sun feels like heaven.

But your question was if it is warm enough to sit outside at the pool at the end of October. If you're in the sun, it should be.

When does it warm up enough to hang by the pools? We usually go in early march and while it can be warm it usually is not what I would call pool weather.

The weather was incredible during that period last December; I loved it but I've also been during the same timeframe when it was just as cold in Vegas as it was at home in Canada. Here's hoping for a repeat of last years temps for NFR this year!

During Thanksgiving weekend 2011 we were at the Aria pool with dozens of other people, the temps were in the upper 70's and coming from the east coast at that time of year is hot. The week before Christmas last year the weather was great and the Paris pool had a good number of people lounging and sitting along the edge of the pool. For me any temp over 60 is worth sitting out by a pool.

When I went last year for easter, late april, I dont remember the temps but it was pretty nice. Although when the temps started to drop around dinner time, it was kinda chilly sometimes if you were walking around and wet.

We'll be in Vegas in less than two weeks (yeah!) and will pack a swimsuit. I do hope it's warm enough to use it.
